So besides the few transfers: Andersen, Faifili, and Leavitt and the returning missionaries: Andersen, Harris, Raymond, Swenson, and Wildman it appears we are down to only Bailey? This assumes that the reports on Woo and Cronk are correct.

Re: National Signing Day 2015
In reading through the various posts it looks like we have 6 3* signs and potentially 2 more in the two "academic casualties". Compare to previous years how does this look?

It seems like this is the most. Before we only got 2 or 3 of the 3 star variety. Great class!ChicagoAggie wrote:In reading through the various posts it looks like we have 6 3* signs and potentially 2 more in the two "academic casualties". Compare to previous years how does this look?

Leavitt, Faifili, and Chasen are all on campus. They have already signed.

Yep. Not sure we need anymore.72AgGrad wrote:Am I reading this list correctly, only one running back?
We will have Hall, Hunt, Hervey, Williams, and Lindsay returning and now add Mays as the big back option.
Between Hunt, Hervey and Mays there may not be a lot of touches left.

Re: National Signing Day 2015
So what about the group that has returned. Have they signed an LOI yet? I haven't seen any official announcement about those guys signing in this group. Are we sure they are all solid commits for next year?ag4fr wrote:I don't believe that Sign and Send Missionaries sign an LOI before they leave.
I believe that they sign a grant in aid agreement with the University as a sort of 2 way agreement that they will sign an LOI and enroll and the school will put them on an athletic scholarship when they return.

Yes, but with the possible exception of Mays, do we have (and I'm not trying to be critical, just asking because based on what I saw the past couple of years I have to ask) do we have a back with the same combination of size, speed and power as, for example, Booker at Utah?Aglicious wrote:Yep. Between Hunt, Hervey and Mays there may not be a lot of touches left.

That's a pretty high bar... Can I take it then that the answer to my question is, "No". So I pose another question; Are we at least trying?

According to UtesAggs the U would have gone after Mays if Booker had declared for the draft. For what that's worth.72AgGrad wrote:aceofspadeskb wrote:That's a pretty high bar... So are these 3* Oceanside guys going to get their grades up and sign? How does that all work? Will we end up seeing them here or will they go the JC route?

Seems like these situations often turn out that way. Hopefully these are the exceptions, though.NVAggie wrote:Sounds like they will never wear Aggie blue.

Re: National Signing Day 2015
That is encouraging. Also, I must add, that my question "Are we at least trying?" was actually pretty stupid. Of course I'm sure we would like to get a running back like Booker, and of course I'm sure there just are not that many with his combination of size speed and power out there. I hope Mays turns out to be at least close to that kind of back for us.3rdGenAggie wrote:According to UtesAggs the U would have gone after Mays if Booker had declared for the draft. 8 3-star guys, 1 for sure grey-shirt 3-star guy, and 2 academically troubled 3-stars that may end up greyshirting.
I call that pretty spectacular.
I can't remember doing so well.

Re: National Signing Day 2015
I've mentioned this before somewhere, but I think that Zach Swenson is a 2016 kid. He returned home from his mission for a while before he was able to go back out, and I think that will put him behind one additional football season. I also think he was here for the 2013 season, which would mean that he would miss the 2014 and 2015 seasons on his mission anyway. Maybe he got that BYU exemption to serve a 12-18 month mission?

Re: National Signing Day 2015
While I was on my mission there were a few kids that went home for medical/other reasons. It all depends on if he was released from missionary service. Regardless, I am pretty darn sure he was in Logan for the 2013 season (not serving a mission nor waiting to go back out), which would mean he would miss both this past season and the upcoming one.jackmormon wrote:At the risk of looking like I'm stalking you, really?azaggie wrote:Usually your clock keeps ticking when you come home for medical reasons, or any reason I'm pretty sure.YoungBloodAggie wrote:I've mentioned this before somewhere, but I think that Zach Swenson is a 2016 kid.
