Great game plan by staff
That was a very well prepared team tonight. It was both great game prep. Proper game plan. Both defense and offense. This time the players executed on the floor. It was coaches and team together. Great coaching
Now. Air Force adjusted their defense back and forth. Zone? We forced man to man. Post play, we actually ripped the man defense with our great roll. Pick. And sam and others giving spot on assists
Every time they tried new defense coach adjusted
Our coaching has been flawed some games. But of late. Spot on. This team is responding, it's not just the head coach. It's an entire staff that has teamed up with our players They like each other. We are going to see good success going forward imo
Of course the coach hate with some won't change much. So predictable that the usu blue and such never lost after we have such a great game
Nah. We won't likely win the tourney. But future is bright. For us all

Re: Great game plan by staff
I know the conference is having a down year, but if we could have flipped three very winnable games (BSU, BSU, and AFA), we would be sitting in third place.
I too like what I have seen in the last 4-5 games, except Nevada.

Amazing what happens with a little post play.

This. Duryea has to have an inside game if he wants to have consistent success.dyedblue wrote:Amazing what happens with a little post play.

Call me out Buck, I'll respond. When you beat the worst team (or UNLV) in a very average conference, some fans, like you, see it as a "sign" of great things to come. Others, like me, don't see such a great sign. I believe it was you that "promised" us at the start of the season how great this year's team was going to do and how great the coaching was becoming -- Well sir, you were wrong many times, many ways. So your prediction of great things to come next year is hollow -- Without a serious addition of toughness, size inside, and a coaching change or at least a change from Duryea's ball screen offense, I see another average year.buckfever wrote:That was a very well prepared team tonight. Re: Great game plan by staff
Air Force didn't show up. They kept leaving Taylor wide open under the basket for layups. I wonder why we don't use this "game plan" against the better teams?
The team did look good last night.

Going 13-25 from 3 is going to make a lot of game plans look good.
Seemed to be a well coached game and much better effort. The atmosphere was pretty good. It was the first game I've attended since we beat BYU during the 2011-2012 season.

Re: Great game plan by staff
Coaching always looks great in a win. Blue can go fly a kite because nothing short of firing Duryea and bringing in Pitino will make him happy.
For me, the biggest differences was our ability to score inside. I think we saw what this team can become, coach included, if we were to have any sort of a post game. I hate to say it over and over, but Collette would have made this team a lot more competitive. We've kind of been a one legged man in a butt kicking contest.

I agree with your statement, but we could've gone 3-25 from three and still won. Good game plan.Intermeddler wrote:Going 13-25 from 3 is going to make a lot of game plans look good.

Re: Great game plan by staff
Sure a bit of hype in my post. But a bit of hope also
No, we won't be league beaters next year but I expect improvement. That is where I agree with a lot of comments here
We must have a legitimate post player. One that can dominate the paint. But I think they are tough to find

Except for it taking bringing in Pitino to make me happy, I agree with your post (flying kites is fun). Collette would have make a huge difference this year. Of course that was 2 seasons ago now and still no toughness or attitude inside.dyedblue wrote:Coaching always looks great in a win. Amazing what happens when we are at home playing a poor team. Not to be too negative...our post players benefitted from excellent passing by Merrill and the boys.dyedblue wrote:Amazing what happens with a little post play.
