Re: Pete Thamel reporting it now. It's Calhoun
Calhoun will be a good one for us. Sabau instituted a full court press to run this team back. She's been excellent and committed to both BB hires despite family issues.

Re: AD Search
Looks like things are going against Bovee as of late. Cantwell is in town having meetings with all the VPs and a lengthy discussions with the attorneys to get up to speed on all of the ongoing legal issues. A big issue right now is the intense DOJ scrutiny that USU has undergone for their 3 year obs...

Re: Another player arrested
I agree about the assessment. I guess having 1 rapist a year in a group of 90 young men is normal for the state. Sad I wish alleged sex crime offenders in USU FB were only 1 in 90. Like any university for every big case like this that gets coverage there are several incidents that either go unresol...

Re: AD Search
I'm a little bit surprised at how quiet things have been in regards to the AD search. We've had a president in place for a few weeks now, I have to imagine one of the first items of business would be to lock down an AD. Unless Bovee has the job and all that's left are the formalities so there's not...

Re: Presidential Candidates Revealed
It will not be Bennett. interesting. has he removed his name from consideration, or are you hearing that he simply didn't check the boxes? what tipped the scales against him, do you know? I didn't hear all of his public session, but he seemed thoughtful and deliberate and very well qualified from w...

Re: Presidential Candidates Revealed
I think all of the candidates will bring a value-add to USU in the coming years and could do a great job. A few observations: Cantwell seems to have an incredible grasp over the issues, gave the most nuanced, substantive answers in the Q&A, and her experience lines up well with USU's strengths. She ...

Re: Presidential Candidates Revealed
Jimbo, is there a leader as of yet? To me it’s seems neck and neck, with White in 3rd. I don't get the same impression. I think on paper White is the candidate to beat. However, except for the couple of board members on the search committee, the rest of USHE won't meet the candidates until May 17, ...

Re: Cocketts Replacement
Three finalists will be announced on Monday. On campus meetings and interviews are on May 17, and as I mentioned more than a month ago, the new president will be announced on May 19. One internal candidate and two external. Scott Wyatt is not a finalist. I can neither confirm nor deny that TT is a f...

Re: State Pride Uniform Concept
FYI this idea has been in the works for several months and Nike is in the process of designing them. The first flag concept special uniform was supposed to be ready for FB season, but today the governor put the brakes on the whole thing. We have to wait until the flag goes official in 2024. There is...

Re: Bovee Scores BIG
The timing rhetoric on this board has no sense of reality. Just because a few schools do it very fast, it ignores any kind of process and even more importantly that both sides have a huge decision to make. You make a valid point. Bovee did a bunch of interviews in Houston. It can take time to get t...

I don't want to dox anyone, but I think Jimbo has something in common with "Jimbo." Nuff said. I doubt you could dox me. I don't know who most of the people are on this board, have never met them in person, and certainly don't hang out in the well-funded, well-connected crowd of USU athletics boost...

Excited for Sprinkle. He should be able to motivate a team to work hard and win. I hope Bovee writes in a H/H clause into his buyout. He's not tied down by family, so it makes him easy to assimilate here, but also easy to move on later. I also hope Viola is up to the task.

Cockett told Bovee to go after Odom with a big deal after Vegas and that she'd find the money. Odom has been sitting on the offer. I don't blame him for testing the waters elsewhere, but it's not like our admin has been inept or tied hands as many here have assumed

I'll try harder in the future. It’s an unwritten rule, you’re forgiven. Hipster missed his opportunity here. At least 10K of those posts were TWSS, right? Also, it appears that while she may be disconnected from athletics day to day, Noelle has not given any message to Bovee other than to keep Odom, so s...

Looks like Kim English to Providence is official, so the Mason job is open. The plot thickens though - they are also without a permanent AD.
Mason fans are in about the same mindspace as we are right now considering the timing.

Does Noelle have sour grapes towards the athletic department after the HR issues with the football team? This could be her way of retaliation, but I would hope a university president wouldn't be petty like that. Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk This goes both ways. Athletics issues in the news...

Nike and Wilson balls have a very different feel. I can see how this would trip shooters up.
