OOC Schedule Pieces

This is fantastic. I think we can win the St. Mary's game. The other 2 would be big upsets if we were to win them. Either way the LSU and Florida games are neutral court games against sure fire quad 1 teams. So long as we play well and don't get blown out of the water they will not hurt the resume....

Re: Smith extension and raise

Is it not true that with no contract extension that Mr. Smith's buyout would go down for someone wanting to hire him at the end of his second year ? I haven’t seem any say this but..... maybe Smith doesn’t want to sign an extension. Maybe he’s been offered by USU but has declined to sign it. Maybe ...

Really impressive the talent we will have available next year. I would love to see Grootfaam on the court. I didn’t realize his post game was so polished. I’m excited to it. I’m excited to see 1-5 on this list! Going to be a great year!

I don’t agree with the “will play with a target on their back, unlike last season.” In the context that this is about the Mountain West, we had proved that we were a very good team by the time conference play came around. Just before conference play started, we were being picked behind only Nevada....

Re: Projecting Next Season's Depth Chart

We should be scary good next year. If Queta comes back, IMO, that’s the best USU team ever on paper, especially if Bairstow can be a primary ballhandler and we can get anything out of Groot or Stall. If Groot or Stall actually can play next year, we will be very good. We will have depth at both pos...

Has there been a Portuguese player in NBA before? I agree staying in and going in 2nd round is not a great decision (if that happens) but being the first Portuguese player to make league may be a motivation? He already played at BYU. I remember hearing how it wasn’t necessarily his choice to leave the program and that next year at UVU vs BYU was a revenge game. He played great that game. I’ll have to go back and verify this. I just don’t see him going back to BYU again. Has anyone ever heard of a player...

We could only play Nevada in the championship game. We could play NMSU and Houston along the way to the final four.

I have Nevada losing their first game though anyway. Caroline is likely out and Jazz is out.

“Shut Down Sam Merrill”

I’ve read a lot of scouting reports and fan analysis on Washington fan sites. They all come to the same conclusion; if they shut down Sam they will win the game. I see a few problems with this analysis. Everybody has tried since day 1 this season to shut down Sam. The only team to have any success w...

SDSU only started playing well at the end of the season. Season stats won’t tell the story of the team on the court in the championship or end of the season.

That was the only game those two played since they have an unbalanced schedule and didn’t meet in the tourney. NM had 25 more shot attempts than we had! That’s amazing. I realize that is due to the 29 fouls and us shooting 45 free throws but that really is quite an amazing stat. They only made 28/72 shots compared to our 25/47.
