Re: Thomas & Mack Center

They can have it in Vegas but don't play it at Thomas and Mack! Why give UNLV a huge advantage? Why not Tmobile arena? Go Aggies! A) The Pac-12 already has the T-Mobile arena for the week. B) The cost would be way higher. P12 tickets have gone up over $500. Attendance would suffer. I really don't t...

Re: MW Tournament Dates

St Mary's scheduled a game with Weber State in 2011 after the conference tournament. If I remember right, they did it because they were short 1 game on their schedule for the season and needed another game to get a player under the threshold for a medical redshirt. I believe that we played a full s...

Re: WSJ homepage article on MWC using new Nike balls (picture of Sam in article too)

Still, San Diego State athletic director John David Wicker requested a waiver from Nike to play its home games with Wilson balls embedded with ShotTracker sensors in late January. When the Aztecs began practicing with Wilson basketballs last month, several players were so excited to ditch the Nike ...

Re: MW Tournament Dates

I did notice Hotel prices this year have been cheaper. Which I am a fan of. Indeed, the tournament is usually held during a very busy week - in the past it was on the same week as the NASCAR event, along with all of the other conference tournaments, spring breaks for many universities around the co...

It's because of CONEXPO . The conference realized a couple of years ago that there was a conflict during the normal time and had trouble getting hotel blocks. MW Tournament Dates

Maybe this has been discussed previously, but I'm just now realizing that the MW tournament is a week earlier than normal - it will conclude one week before Selection Sunday! I assumed that all tournaments were slightly earlier this year due to some oddity in the NCAA calendar, but lo and behold, th...

Had we not blown the game at BSU, we'd be considered safely in at this point and would not be facing a must-win at The Pit in our final game. But if we win out in the regular season, and at least make it to the semifinal of the MW tourney, I think we are fairly securely in the field.

The loss to SDSU dropped the Aggies from 54 to 57. That’s exactly where they were four days ago after beating Wyoming. There is plenty of work to do, but they are in a position where they can play themselves into the tournament over the next four weeks. We, dogie, WE can play OURSELVES into the tou...

Great topic - and excellent post, thanks for presenting all of this data. Since they called timeout to discuss the situation (up 5 with 8.9 seconds), I truly expected Smith to implement a plan that would have ensured victory after Merrill's free throws seemed to put us out of harm's way. For example, I thought we would employ a trapping, three-quarter court press to take ...

We could get Hartwell and the conference to lobby for aq 2 pm start time for the Boise game? A 8:30 start on November 23, could be very brutal. Actually very dangerous for the players if its -10 or -20 below, which is not unreasonable for CV. Granted it hasn't been that cold for several decades in ...

The irony is that we ran that horribly low percentage play (in terms of our chances of obtaining a first down) in order to make WF burn their timeout, but then it was us desperately calling timeouts to keep time on the clock in the final minute.
