Re: BYU replay

Because it's summer, and i am bored with current sports, I re-watched the USU-BYU Provo game tonight. So much fun. I had forgotten how we dominated the line. We had a huge rushing game and they did not. (I think their longest run was 4 yards against our starters) They would not have scored in the 1...

Re: 10-2 with losses to Boise State and BYU. What would you rather have happen?

For those you voted wanting BYU to go 1-11 if their win is against us, Why??? So we can hear about it 20 years down the line like how they still consider it something to brag about that we were their only basketball win in 1997. I understand not wanting them to do well, but if they are able to beat ...

Re: 10-2 with losses to Boise State and BYU. What would you rather have happen?

Even setting aside if BYU beats us or not, I am almost preferring to see them go around 6-6 over 1-11 just for the sake of keeping Kalani around. I have to admit that while I enjoyed their first few losses, I wasn't wanting them to lose to Hawaii, UMass(again) or New Mexico State lest it got Kalani ...

Yeah, besides that they were running against a defense that wasn't Wisconsin's, they should have also thought about the fact that they were playing against a quarterback that wasn't Wisconsin's!

Re: BYU replay

My favorite part of the game was when Rocquemore strip sacked Mangum. The overall game felt like perfect revenge for the 2015 debacle in Logan. Their overhyped QB had his career ended in embarrassing fashion to an in-state rival. As much as we love Chuckie, he just couldn’t get it done anymore in 2...

Re: 2019 Utah State Football Preseason Preview: Quarterback

I keep seeing Love described as a dual-threat QB, but given his numbers I don't really get that. Seems like he is more expert in stepping up in the pocket than escaping it. He's capable with his feet, but he seems to be almost the opposite of a run-first mentality. He is a dual threat QB. He's had ...

Who else can still remember watching Headline News in the 90's for and only for the scores on the ticker on the bottom of the screen? Personally I’m much more worried about the OL than our receivers. I thought Gary did a really good job of bringing in guys to fill voids left by last years unit. I am not because GA and our new O-Line coach are not. Specifically, they evaluated all the O-line players (and worked them out) and concl...

If Texas Tech has any linemen that also throw on the track team, or receivers or corners that are sprinters, Matt Wells can be proud of the fact that he coaches a few national champion football players, even if they aren't national champions in football. After listening to this, I fault him less for not sticking it out four years or even the rest of the year, but just as much for NOT bailing in the spring. He talks about liking it in Logan, without realizing that part of playing Logan is the coach and that you need to look at the whole package of st...

Hopefully the Herald Journal doesn't do this

The St. Louis Post Dispatch prematurely posted ads congratulating the Blues on winning the Stanley Cup which jinxed them. Being a Blues fan myself, I was certainly not happy about it. nvspuds, I just want to ask. Are you concerned about Steve Alford's history in the NCAA Tournament? Losing TWICE as a 3 to a 14? I know I am glad it wasn't us that lost our coach and hired him.

Some people suspect that getting best matchups is how they determine who misses you, but that theory doesn't make any sense as the 1 vs 2 from last year is missed. It's also funny that we miss San Jose State when we suck and need every chance for a win we can get, then when we were good and want a s...

This one, while mitigated by being a meaningless friendly and being without a few of our top players, is aggravated by being AT HOME. We thought it was bad losing to Trinidad or Guatemala down there. Even Costa Rica down there, until we lose to them at home.

Some states are experimenting with Instant Replay for High School Football. Alabama used it first, and New Jersey, Texas and Minnesota are using it for postseason games. Georgia and Arizona are considering it as well. One thing you have to wonder is if Utah and Idaho will ever get it.
