Re: SDSU Critical to Win?

I mean, mathematically we likely don’t have to win against SDSU to win the conference, but realistically, if we can’t beat SDSU, we aren’t likely good enough to win the conference.

I would be REALLY happy just winning one tourney game since it’s been so long. I would be ecstatic with a Sweet 16. Anything more would be mind-blowing.

Re: Early SI Bowl Projections

We’ll show up in everyone’s projections if we beat SDSU and CSU. Agree, but that’s a big IF. Anyone else feel nervous about even being bowl eligible? Definitely nervous about it. Don’t feel like I’ve seen enough to say definitively either way whether I think we’re a bowl team. Based on the current ...

Re: SDSU - Most Important Game of Year

I truly believe this game is the most important game of the year. If we beat SDSU, we start building momentum and make a good run at the MWC Championship game. If we lose this game, we're going to be fighting for bowl eligibility. I agree completely and I stated nearly this exact same thing to some...

For those considering lower bowl tickets, there was a lot of open lower bowl seating last year. An upper bowl ticket gets you into the arena. I’ll just leave it at that.

I think those of you predicting SDSU putting up 30+ points are crazy. I just don’t see us giving up more points than NMSU.

Re: Sandy Ego State vs NMSU

I hate saying this because it feels like a jinx, but SDSU looks pretty “meh” at best. If we are good at all, we will beat them, and beat them badly (i.e. by 14+ points). I’m still not sure if we’re good though. Your pessimism has been noted, often. You’ll note in the prediction thread I’ve predicte...

Re: Anyone else hate the timing of our two byes this year?

I’m exactly the opposite. I love the timing. We got pretty banged up at Wake Forest. A bye week to get healthy and prepare before we start conference play is awesome. We’re also likely to get banged up at LSU and it’ll be really nice to have a bye week after that game to recover. I agree with you —...

Re: Sandy Ego State vs NMSU

I realize they have not played any good offenses, but their defense scares me a lot. I think defensively we can hold them to 25 or less, but I have reservations if we can score on their defense. SDSU reminds me a lot of WYO as they seem to play down to their competition, but when they play a good o...

Anyone else hate the timing of our two byes this year?

Maybe not terrible for the team, but terrible for fans. -early season after a meaningless FCS game (so basically three solid weeks without a real opponent between Wake and SDSU) -after what is sure to be an @sswhopping at LSU (when it’d be nice to get on the field soon and flush that game) I dunno, ...

I hope they (BYU) put up a good fight and then lose in the most painful way possible - snatching defeat from the jaws of victory at the last possible second. :-) They win. They aren’t a bad team. I unfortunately finally came to that conclusion today too. Even if they lose they’ve proven today they are pretty legit. I thought they’d get run off by USC quickly in this game. The one worry I did have for USC was their QBs first road game and that is what has really hurt ...

The thing with Air Force will always be getting an early lead. If you can’t do that, it’s a grind to the finish. Crazy finish! Wake wins.
At least one of your teams was able to beat an ACC team, and end a road losing streak against P5 teams!
From :anonymous: to :) in one week. Les Miles is gonna turn that ship around even if they don’t win another game this season.

Wake just decided they wanted to lose too by playing it conservative on a third down that could have ended the game had they converted. Let’s see if they indeed lose.

I’m a believer in Wake. They started out a little slow at Rice, but they’ve looked realllllly good since.

This cuts both ways. It makes me feel like we could still be really good despite dropping that game. It also makes me mad we lost a game we should have won against a GOOD P5 team.
