Re: Depth

I personally like the idea of signing a freshman PG more than a sit out transfer. Can plan on redshirting him, but will have another body if the injury bug strikes.

Re: For ineptimus

I wouldn't be opposed to it. 5 star recruit. He had a great first game against Michigan State, and thereafter was a complete disappointment for KU until the last few weeks of the season where he started to have some better moments. He'd be a starter at the MW level, but he has athletic limitations. ...

Re: Some of you owe me a lot of money

I am curious to know from you lawyers out there, if a $1000 bet on an anonymous message board is legally binding? I seem to remember from my business law class that a text message could be viewed as a contract, I wonder if it is the same sort of thing here. Though its been a while since I took busi...

Re: Projecting Next Season's Depth Chart

I’ll trust the staff. Abel is no slouch and can run the point. I think Bairstow and Anderson will be two perimeter guys we didn’t have last year that should put pressure on defenses with their driving ability. We’ll also have more 3 pt shooting to space the floor. We just needed some guys other than...

Miller needs to work his butt of so he can find consistency. Hopefully one of the new guys can knock down wide open threes to open things up for Sam.

Bairstow, McChesney, and Anderson all appear to be able to shoot.

Re: Projecting Next Season's Depth Chart

We should be scary good next year.

If Queta comes back, IMO, that’s the best USU team ever on paper, especially if Bairstow can be a primary ballhandler and we can get anything out of Groot or Stall.

Re: Queta

Perrin said Queta got pushed around a bit today. That doesn’t shock me too much. He was up against a big Australian kid and #FreeSilvio from KU. Silvio De Sousa is a beast.

I selfishly hope he keeps getting feedback like he got today so we get one more year of him.

Point guard?
I'm not so sure. They are pretty happy with the guards they have.
We have 1 point guard.
We do have about 17 guys that are in the 6’5 to 6’9 range that can play the 2 or 3.

I like Abel, but he is our only point guard.

It’s early, but still kind of strange we’ve gotten zero commitments slinging an offer an hour. I would have been fine with an extension and raise, but it cuts both ways. Say this season was a fluke — an extended contract at a higher salary would be a major headache for us long-term. I don’t think it was a fluke and am totally drinking the Smith kool-aid right now, but the University would be ...

It’s hard to know what value lists like these have without knowing what performance bonuses and other compensation is available.

I’d also venture to guess that Logan is one of the cheaper MW cities cost of living-wise.

I will be interested in seeing if he signs, and he seems to have a skill set that look very promising. Re: On campus recruit

What I see is a 7 footer who runs the floor decently dunking on 6’ 5 dudes. That’s good, we need that. What I don’t see is one post move. He will be a good backup, we need a starter. Queta is not coming back, so I still ask who that is? Maybe it is Stall or Roche. It’s gotta be extremely hard to re...

I’d say the closest Queta comp in the NBA is Mo Bamba. There’s still a place in the NBA for long rim protector type bigs, they just aren’t high value guys unless they are elite (pretty much just Gobert).
