Re: New Rankings

After last night’s somewhat underwhelming performance against SJS, TeamRankings now predicts USU to finish 2nd in the conference behind SDS with 2 more losses than we were projected to have before the game. Here’s the basic write-up: After beating San Jose St 71-59 yesterday, Utah St. is now project...

Mountain West Wire All-Conference Teams

These lists are telling. BSU had 17 players named to either the 1st or 2nd team. We had 4, and none on defense.

If Porter and Kuba are the only ones out then I still like our chances. Bairstow could step in for Porter when a guard needs a break and Dorius or Stall may have to step in a little. I like the Merrill, Miller, Brito, Anderson, Bean lineup with Bairstow and Dorius off the bench. And I believe you a...

The feeling on the season all comes down to who you beat and who you lose to. Historically, I could say beat BYU and nothing else matters - which we very rarely did. But maybe my opinions have matured. The games that really count are the division MWC games first. Out of division games second. The o...

How about your "favorite" losses? The two that spring to mind immediately for me were both against UNLV: The first is the 142-140 triple overtime loss to UNLV in 1985 where USU should have won in regulation, the first OT, and the third OT, but managed to blow it each time. The Ags were up by six in...

Have you watched those 3 teams play? LSU is good but 6 deep and no bench production. They will be tough. Florida is very underwhelming so far, they may put it together by the time we play them but today we would win by double digits on a neutral. St Mary's is good and will be a tough road game, tha...

Queta not playing tonight likely means he will not play (if he plays this season at all) until the conference season opens. It is just not possible that he will simply parachute into games against LSU, Florida or St. Mary’s without any preparatory time. We should best resign ourselves to that fact. ...

Regardless of how it would be figured out, it would be hard to argue with Air Force beating us in tie breaker after how badly they beat us this year.
