Re: Was this our biggest win in school history?

Have the Aggies ever beat a Top 5 team? I remember beating Nevada when they were Top 10, but I don't recall them being as highly ranked as SUDS.

Super Bowl: "The rookie Darwin Thompson, out of Utah State"

I may have made a happy squeal when the announcers mentioned Thompson as being from USU, and so early in the game too. Good little blurb for the Aggies and both the program and legacy they've been building the past few years. While I'm not a huge fan of either team, I hope Darwin has a good game.

They were doing that thing where the overnight low was the cost of tickets, and it was like 10 degrees, so tickets were cheap, word got out, and I assume a lot of people who don't normally attend the games showed up to help fill out a student section that wouldn't otherwise have very high attendance...

Re: What game was your first to watch an aggie game?

I'm sure I saw a game or two before on TV, but the first one I remember is the first one I went to as an Aggie. It was BYU @ USU in 2008. BYU was ranked something like #10 and had just shut out two teams, including UCLA or some PAC-10 team like 60-0. In contrast, USU was awful. It was Brent Guy's la...

I loved when he'd come over to the student section during the dark years of 2008-10ish. He'd come over, be all excited, and brighten up the 100 or so of us who were still sticking it out to watch our team lose. It always made the afternoon or evening feel a little brighter. My favorite Captain Aggie...

State dominance in football and basketball! Has it ever happened before?

I wonder when (if ever) was the last time Utah State was the only Utah school to finish the season ranked in football, AND the only Utah school in the NCAA tournament, both in the same year...

Any sports history buffs know? If this is a first, is it a big deal or a minor footnote?

I'm a bit bummed that SDSU beat Nevada. Personally I was looking forward to getting another "good" win. Our win tonight over SUDS won't do much for USU when it comes to seeding. But hey, maybe with that win over Nevada you guys will get lucky and score a game in the NIT where you can get shellacked ...

Wyoming is 8-24 on the season, with 2 of those wins being of SJSU and one where they Dixie State by 2. New Mexico was down to them by 11 at half, needing a huge 2nd half to beat them. I'm not too worried about the Lobos, but nothing is certain until the game is played.

Agreed, at the end of the day the video is of Nevada's poorly behaved player punching stuff, not USU's. That dude tarnished his and his program's reputation. USU is already known for having intense fans. We should own that. It doesn't look bad.

I think we can agree that the programs don't need each other. They're both doing well on their own, independent of each other. A U of U vs USU game adds nothing to USU's schedule we can't find elsewhere and nothing to the U's schedule they can't find elsewhere; however, it's valuable to the fans. Ut...

He had an all right year at Kentucky State this year. They went 0-10, which really isn't a huge drop off from the 3-7 year he had there in 2017 when you consider their strength of schedule which included a close 24-21 loss to undefeated Miles College and a competitive away game against Slippery Rock...
