Re: Anderson

Anderson should play more. Bean is averaging just over 6 points over the last 3 games and it is just a little better over the the last 6. Bean is a better rebounder, but he wasn't great against CSU. For a team that struggles on offense, we could use him. I don't care who he takes minutes from. He i...

I would start Brito or a Anderson that can't guard the perimeter at the 3, versus Miller all day long.

Re: Can we win with only three productive players?

Brito and Anderson are the X-Factors. Really interesting stat, and Brito's regression since the first 10 games of the season has certainly been a big factor in our losses since then (combined with Miller averaging 1.4 makes on 5.6 attempts from beyond the arc in conference play and sub-par play from...

Re: Can we win with only three productive players?

Simple fact is Bean has not been nearly as good in conference a he was out of conference. Some off that is with Queta back he has fewer opportunities for rebounds and fewer shots, however he seems to be missing more inside/ layups that he was in OOC. OOC he was our MVP, in conference he is solid bu...

Re: Can we win with only three productive players?

I should have been more clear about the question posted in the OP: "can we win" was not intended to imply "can we win a single game," it was intended to imply "can we win enough to make the NCAA tournament and perhaps win a game or two there?" I came into this season suggesting I would be highly dis...

Re: Can we win with only three productive players?

Our 2 elite players and 1 very good player make us tough to beat. Interesting that you single out one player as not being on the same level as the other two. I assume you mean Bean -- though the advanced stats (both NetRtg and WS/40) suggest he has actually contributed more to wins than Merrill and...

It is tough, but a little perspective never hurts. 2 years ago under Duryea if you could foresee to now and be 19-7 overall and coming off a MW championship would you take it? I am not downplaying that we have several players that are struggling. With that being said we are still by most standards ...

Bairstow . . . [is] fulfilling all of my expectations. Really? While he is a true freshman, I had higher expectations after hearing so many great things about him. He often fails the eye test -- regularly looking overmatched and out-of-control -- and the advanced metrics support the fact that he is...

He also seems to get called for charging more than any PG in Aggie history. I think Brito played better with Merrill, Miller, Bean, and Queta than he does coming off the bench. Totally agree. Brito looks better in the facilitator role than he does as a non-facilitating wing. He also looked better last night in that role than Porter has all season. Let's give that a shot . ...

How about that 1-on-4 25-foot attempt by Miller in the first half? I believe it was the one right after the Bean steal. I can't believe that is the shot Coach Smith wants on that play. Miller is .239 from beyond the arc in conference play (.216 coming into last night's game), which translates to onl...

The win shares tell the true story. We can't afford to bench Brito or Porter right now due to bad shooting. They are contributing in other ways which help. Unfortunately, we don't have better options than them right now. You might be right regarding not having better options, but outside Merrill, B...

Unfortunately, only Merrill, Bean, and Queta have been positive contributors for the Aggies, while the other five have ...

Utilizing the run equally with the pass is passe. The offenses that score the most points are spread/west-coast/Air Coryell style offenses, not old-timey 3-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust offenses. Offenses that move the ball most effectively get their best athletes in open space in on-on-one situations a...

But you can’t always have him and Queta on the floor both within 10 ft of the basket. It messes with the spacing. And I don’t think anyone is arguing for Bean to become a volume three point shooter. My two biggest take-aways from the Nevada game: 1. Bairstow's confidence and play have improved significantly -- though he ended up with five turnovers (unacceptable), he had fewer moments where he seemed over-matched and out-of-control. He made his shots (1-1 3PA, 2-3 2PA), grabbed a couple rebound...

Just checked the online translate to confirm what I thought. Feminine dentist is dentiste (F f noun "dentist").
While that may be true in other parts of the world, it's not true in Utah. It's "dentresses." Story checks out.
