Re: BYU looking good

I think BYU is a lot better team than they were last year and this is very different than the Wisconsin game. They have a different QB who seems to just have only a decent arm but is a flat out play maker, they have more speed on the field, and a lot of inexperienced players that are playing now and...

Re: Vandals VS Pokes

Wyoming shouldn't have even won the game today, struggled last week, and were handed the Mizzou game on a platter. They're not that impressive thus far despite their record. Again, why do we have the need to try to downplay our opponent and conference mate? They're 3-0 and have a win over an SEC te...

Re: We miss Yost

I watched Texas Tech play Arizona yesterday. TT & Yost's offense was horrible. It honestly looked just like the Wells offenses of old. Texas Tech only scored 14 points against an Arizona defense that had sucked so far this year. Tech fans are pissed. Texas Tech just tried to throw the ball a ton and...

Re: Sandy Ego State vs NMSU

I realize they have not played any good offenses, but their defense scares me a lot. I think defensively we can hold them to 25 or less, but I have reservations if we can score on their defense. SDSU reminds me a lot of WYO as they seem to play down to their competition, but when they play a good o...

Re: Anyone else hate the timing of our two byes this year?

I’m exactly the opposite. I love the timing.

We got pretty banged up at Wake Forest. A bye week to get healthy and prepare before we start conference play is awesome.

We’re also likely to get banged up at LSU and it’ll be really nice to have a bye week after that game to recover.

Meh, this win by BYU was only good for USU. If USU loses to BYU then they lose. BYU is going to the Hawaii bowl regardless. But if USU wins I want that win to mean even more.

Re: New Unis

I love the excitement of the players. I appreciate that fans may like this. I don’t think I will unless they bring out a much brighter shade of blue than typical Aggie blue. Or unless we had nighttime “cammo” type jersey. From what I can tell, I’ll leave it at I don’t like this- but I’ll still chee...

Re: 2020 USU Football Offers and Commits

Gary mentioned in a coaches show that we only had 5 spots left. I believe that was before Keegan Duncan committed and definitely before the 2 this weekend. Gonna be a small class. Well alright then. There must have been a lot of push forwards from last year. It'll be interesting to see how ...

Re: And the commitment is...

Whats the depth at DE? could he be a day one starter? If he has the talent to do so he will. I think Nick Heninger will be a starter at the EDGE next year. One reason Dahlin has flown "under the radar" so to speak is that it looks to me like he missed the 2018 season for some reason. However last w...

Re: And the commitment is...

Nice pick up here. From what I've gathered, many of his offers came as a prospective LB. I know that is what Utah was looking at him as, but when he unofficially visited, he had grown a bit and coaches projected him to be more of a DE. I wonder if Gary sees him as a hybrid type guy There's no doubt...

Re: Yards per play

You guys are missing my point, perhaps I didn't explain it well. I'm not arguing that our offense has fewer yards per play in cold weather but does it only affect our offense or does it affect the other teams offenses as well? If it also affects the other teams offense then the YPP they get (what o...

Re: Abc4 docu-series

I heard abc was very disappointed with the view count of the video. Maybe the lack of Aggie fans watching has contributed to a lack of enthusiasm to get video #2 out.

We really need to do a better job of watching the video ourselves and sharing it with every Aggie fan we know.

Re: Yards per play

I have a few points here that I think make these numbers slightly misleading. Regarding the offense, our 'yards per play' stat last year was really brought down by 3 cold weather games. Wyoming, CSU & Boise. Outside of those cold weather games it was significantly higher. We have not played a cold ...

Am I alone in hating the insulting variations on our rivals? For example, ewets, boogers, etc. I feel like these are childish and pretty lame. There are a few exceptions, BYU-P being one. I simply feel like these types of names remove validity from your side of the argument. For example, "BYU doesn...

Re: Some defensive personnel changes I noticed

I guess I don’t understand. How do you have a 4th LB in a 3-3-5? Again, I said it's "essentially a 3-3-5". Not "is a 4th LB in a 3-3-5". As you referenced, teams are putting 5 DB's on the field to combat the spread with speed in their defense. So what I'm talking about is a way to combat the spread...

I expect the 4 man front to continue against a run heavy SDSU team As do I and every single other person. There hasn't been anywhere near a large enough sample size and results to abandon it yet. Re: Keys To The SDSU Game

Early on SDSU's defense looks pretty stifling. It's hard to know just how bad UCLA's offense is so far, but SDSU certainly made them look bad. They also shut out a decent Weber State team.

SDSU has had a great defense in the past and this year looks no different.

Some defensive personnel changes I noticed

I noticed some changes on defense at the game Saturday night. (Please correct me anyone if I'm wrong on what I saw on the field). We started the game in our 4-2-5 base, but actually had Bond & Gilliam as the starting safeties and Lefeged was in at Nickel (in place of Grayson). Lampkin & DJ Williams ...

Re: I don’t love our defensive scheme

One thing I wanted to point out, is that during the dark years of football at USU, Brent Guy had been running a 4 man front, vanilla defense. Once Gary came on, he switched us to a 3-4 and started using creative blitzes and that's what helped our defense really get going. I'm not sure we really have...
