Re: Formal apology to Brock Miller

I saw a quote from Craig Smith saying as good as Miller was offensively, he was even better defensively. How does that reconcile to the general consensus on this board that he is a poor defender. Is it just that the bar is that low, or is he better than most on this board give him credit for? I've ...

Re: The WAC is attempting to pull off a weird coup

All this effort to setup a conference for FBS alignment. I think the P5 or maybe even P4 minus the Pac12 move themselves into a separate division away from FBS and the NCAA in 5 or so years.

It's kind of a weird thing for grown men to wear actual jersey's around, plus they're $$$. I think I might need to get a shirt like that too.

Re: Christmas Gifts

Not a direct Christmas gift, but it worked out. A couple weeks ago I put in my $5 for a "seat" in the virtual sellout. Week before Christmas the Athletic Dept. emailed me to let me know I won 2 men's basketball tickets for the 2020-2021 season. Both me and my wife love Aggie basketball, but season t...

Re: Doug Robinson article on the Maile incident

I think Noelle Cockett is a fine person, but I do not think she has much knowledge on university sports. That's not necessarily a bad thing, she just has to find good people to trust with that area. 4 or so years ago at the Arizona bowl the Aggies lost to the other Aggies, there was a little pep ral...

Re: 2020-21 Utah State Basketball Preseason Preview: Guard

Seems we have a lot more experience in the forwards and center, so it'll be interesting to see the point production from the guards this year. I'd be interested in how many shots coach Smith expects from these players, versus how much he needs competent passing and defense from this position group.

Re: 2020-21 Utah State Basketball Preseason Preview: Forward

When Queta was out last season, we played a good deal of "small ball" without a Dorius/Kuba/Queta. Hopefully Queta stays healthy and can play 30 minutes a game, but when he's on the bench could we see a Alphonso/Bean/3 guard combo? Or is Queta going to be replaced by another big each time he goes out?

Re: S&C Coach: 2nd most important role in our program

I don't know Coach Scholz's personal opinion on nutrition, but I was an employee of the football program for 2 years. There was plenty of white bread, sugary gatorade, potatoes, sweet potatoes, fried foods post game, some pasta. I don't think the players were forced to eat any certain way and had pl...

Head Coach Traits

All this talk about desired traits for a head football coach got me thinking about our basketball coach. What does Craig Smith do well that brings the basketball team success? He's obviously charismatic, but is he a great X and O guy? Does he do a good job picking his assistant coaches? I think we'l...

Honestly don't give a care to AP poll basketball rankings. Too many teams, too many games, razor thin margins. I take a lot more stock in kenpom and other metric driven results.

Just look at Michigan this year

There are 80 bowl slots available. 40 bowl games I think. As of right now there are 87 teams that are alive for bowl games. 14 Teams have a 5 - 6 record. 4 Red are very unlikely to win. 3 other teams need to lose. Boston College @ Pitt 7 - 4 TCU vs WVU 4 - 7 North Carolina @ North Carolina State 4 ...
