Or they want to run it back for the championships. I believe that the most. Especially for Great, he’d rather dominate the league than go to the BIG10 https://i.postimg.cc/0MtNqqGv/IMG-1160.gif Can’t you just let a guy hope? Besides Utah States average crowd is double Washington’s and Washington do...

Re: For those who are freaking out about Kowalczyk
For those upset about a non-sexy vanilla hire I’ll say this — I’m ready for some stability to come to this program as we are now on our fourth coach since Smith left four years ago. The coaches at SDS, CSU, BSU and Nevada are decidedly not sexy either. Unless the NCAA starts enforcing the transfer ...

Re: For those who are freaking out about Kowalczyk
I'm going to hold off judging on this occasion especially since USU hit three straight times. I didn't think the last three coaches would be as successful as they were. Craig Smith coached South Dakota and never coached an NCAA tournament game before he came here. Odom coached one which was a more ...

Re: Tod Kowalczyk - Announcement on Tuesday
So, Diana opted to deviate from the successful pattern we've seen with our last three coaches and pursue a more conservative "safe hire" approach? There are certainly some advantages to bringing TK on board. Hopefully TK's contract spans no more than two years and heavily includes performance-based...

So we hired the first guy we talked to. The name that was leaked 4 days ago and now this old fart will be a week behind in working the portal. Expect a mass exodus from the team from what I’m told. How do you know he is the first person we talked to? First name leaked earlier this week. The rest of...

We did only beat Akron by 1 on a neutral floor last season, the competition in the MAC is solid Get Maddox, Cochran, Simmons and maybe Wilson to come and add some MW level guys from elsewhere and we could be cooking Toledo has 2 good recruits too but they’re from Michigan so maybe were looking to s...

Preston Squire from SLCC is a 6'11" stretch forward that is signed with Bowling Green for next year. He's from Ephraim so I would imagine he would follow if Simon got the job.

If Todd Simon is the coach and everyone leaves, where are you starting from a roster building standpoint? He doesn’t have superstars to bring with him like Danny did. Are we just pulling some average players from Bowling Green and then getting what we can from the portal? TK, Todd, and Hill are all...

Re: Sprinkle's (possible) replacements
This thread is super long so I'm sorry if this has already been talked about. Wouldn't it be ironic if we hired Chris Victor from SeattleU (16 min drive from UW) and then he did better than Sprinkle. That would be awesome. First I've heard this name mentioned. And since you don't post very often I'...

Re: Moneyball
We spent a fraction what many schools spend on coaches with Craig Smith, Ryan Odom, and Danny Sprinkle, and we got 3 buyouts on top of that. In the 6 seasons, we got 5 NCAA tournaments, 1 NIT, and 2 AP top 25 seasons. We were overall 146-56 in those 6 seasons. We are the moneyball team of college b...

I heard Ryan Odom flew his private jet into Logan so that his driver could pick him up in the Benz and drive him to Salt Lake. While he's ashamed to say it, he was missing a little blue mint ice cream with his caviar.

Re: An unmentioned dark side of NIL
As we raised our family, we occasionally crossed paths with parents who (for kids as young as 6 years old) were adamant that they needed to push those kids for the financial benefit of a college scholarship. With the reality that there is more money in NIL than there is in (most) college scholarshi...

Under the current climate we almost have to hire a head coach because it’s the only way to get fast recruits/transfers. Really you’re not only hiring the coach now. You’re hiring his current team and recruiting class to some extent. If you don’t do that your current t class transfers and you’re lef...
