Re: Error in judgement vs all out mistake

I've got to disagree that 1 was bad judgement or a judgement call. It's at home. You are tied. You put points on the board with the chip shot. NM then has 5:30 to go the length of the field to win or tie with a field goal. Things might get forced a bit. I see that as a no brainer.

Re: Misconception about Wells Buyout

Matt wells payout is 2.58 Million If we fire him we have to pay base plus all incentives. (I.e. mwc championship bonus, bowl game, National title bonus.) For every year remaining. If we fire him and he takes the SAME position at another D1 school. We are on the hook for the difference. If we fire h...

See item 19 of the contract above. If he's fired, he is paid his "base annual compensation for the remaining term of the contract or until Coach accepts other outside employment." The total of his base compensation (see 2) for 17-18 and '18, ending Dec 31, 2018, is $840,000. 19 specifically excludes...

Re: The ASU players were punks

The refs did a terrible job IMO at keeping them in control. While there were a lot of penalties on ASU, there were SEVERAL easy late hits and taunts that went uncalled. If they would have tossed a few players out early they could have sent a message, but instead they just allowed it to go on throug...

In the first one I thought he pushed the receiver in the back just after the ball was thrown, then broke on the ball. I think the images above show the push I thought I saw. I was actually kind of ok with that. I thought the 2nd was a terrible call. Yes there was contact but he was playing the ball....

Really Hick? I know a former player here who played a skill position on offense. He can barely remember his kids names. He didn't play that long either and he didn't play after here. This is a much more serious issue than you're making it out to be.

Re: ESPN promoting illegal hit on Leavitt

The hit on Leavitt should have been an ejection. I heard the crap PAC12 announcers talking about 'it's football' trying to justify the no call. Luckily, I had somewhere to be so it was a good time to turn off the TV. I'm extremely surprised that Leavitt didn't have at least a moderate concussion fro...

Re: Are u kidding Pete Carroll?

I can't believe that call. Run the ball. Run the clock. A 1 yard pass play attempt stops the clock with either a TD or incompletion. I just don't understand the mindset there. I kind of hoped that Lynch would get the ball but get to about the 1 foot line so that on 3rd down he (or even Wilson) could...

Re: WT ef was the deal with the pooch punt...

I didn't understand the call when they ran that. If we were punting it should have been Bentrude. From the 35 he may get a touchback but he's been pretty good at pinning teams in the past. Kick it to the sideline and I'd expect it would've been inside the 10. How many decent returns did they have al...

I agree with Geo. Madmax has been a good citizen around here. That said, I don't really follow where the strength of schedule fits into the rating here. It seems to me he's just ranking where he thinks the teams belong based on how good they are. I also think it's a bit low for a UT team who lost a ...
