Sitting in a bar for lunch

in Scottsdale, AZ and Mel Kiper's ESPN draft picks up and there is Jordan Loves name with a banner #24. No audio, but nice to see. Then off to golf.

Re: Sam Merrill/Wayne Estes -- Feb. 8th

I saw Estes score those final points. An unbelievable night. 48 points, each one needed to push him over 2000. And then, in an instant, it was over.

And what a post game fight that was!!!!!! Wrong place, wrong time, wrong attitude and things went from bad all the way to downhill bottomed out when post game hostilities erupted, and not in the favor of the cougars or their entourage. IIRC the story, a BYU player by the name of Gary Eastus had the...

So pleased there was no "divine intervention"...I fully expected the Y to pull off a last second touchdown. Couldn't be happier with a Wilson interception to finish the game.

Re: Cornell Green

We were all amazed when Cornell was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys....he didn't play a second of USU football. Darnell was a great guy (I believe he is an administrator at Weber State) I had a pottery class with him. Quite a sight seeing him hunched over a pottery wheel throwing clay in the Art Barn....

My first year at USU. That was a really great era to be an Aggie as we were superb in both basketball and football. Have that yearbook too...if you examine the players pictured, it seems like every other guy had a professional football career.

Re: Old Bowl Memories

To put USU bowl games in perspective, I looked up the first appearance by the Aggies...the 1947 Raisin Bowl in Fresno. We were Utah State Agricultural College, often referred to as "The Farmers". Played San Jose State....did not have much offensive punch (126 total yards and just 7 first downs.). It...

Old Bowl Memories

Got to thinking about Aggies and bowl games...I remember our appearance in the Sun Bowl which may have been the first time USU appeared on national TV? (Anyway I remember it as really cool that our obscure team got national exposure). My other memory is of the Gotham Bowl played in NYC in ? Giant St...

Not all cases are the same..if there is rupture or spillage of intestinal contents the ensuing peritonitis can complicate what would have been a simple recovery and may necessitate multiple drains, larger incision, antibiotics, etc.

PIss poor offense on the red zone. That is the difference this season
I think another difference is last year we bypassed the red zone more frequently, roaring through en route to a long score.

Re: Lets go Aggies

I think the first quarter will tell the tale of the game. If we don't get off to a fast start with a couple of scores I think it will be a struggle we will lose. Hope I'm wrong, but our offense has not been what I expected we would have this year.

I've seen him play in person and he is very fast and athletic but also seems to be very small in weight/body build. It will be 52 degrees at kickoff. That should be just fine for Love and the boys. In the 60's would be better, but hey.....it's mid November in Cache Valley. It is about as good as you can expect. So nice to see a football game in daylight! Dropped balls not an issue, made me think that USU may not be a very skilled team on O when it is cold, wet, and dark.
