Re: Current State of USU Basketball

Players can't have it both ways. You can't both expect a school to keep a commitment and then have ultimate freedom at the end of each year to jump ship. It sucks for Barnes, I would have liked to see him here, but he should be pissed at the new NIL world rather than Calhoun. Mercenaries for hire s...

Re: Cooper Lewis

If we are not going to offer a scholarship to the more skilled, Aggie legacy Jordy Barnes then we should definitely not offer a scholarship to a kid that will bail for his dad’s favorite school the second he starts to produce for us.

I remember this year fondly, my first at USU. Loss at OU, we put up a fight after going down big early. FCS win, I think Idaho State. BYU win. My Aggiedom was locked down that day. Fresno loss, didn’t feel competitive Narrow win against NMSU. Hawaii killed us at home in the snow. Idaho womped us at ...

Something somewhere along the line with Tod Kowalczyk changed. I spoke with FOUR non-USU, unrelated sources who were all SURE it was going to be Tod Kowalczyk. Coaches from other schools talk, athletic department people from other schools talk, agents talk, and people talk. I spent nearly 2 days wo...

Re: 2024 USU FOOTBALL SPRING BALL: The Quarterback Battle

Best Guess: 1. Legas 2. Barnes 3. Petras 4. Hillstead (once they see he isn't head and shoulders better, they'll use the redshirt) I think it is possible that Barnes is a better QB than Cooper, but the advantage in playbook and receiver familiarity is not something I'd underestimate. Quite frankly, ...

We definitely looked sluggish, but thankfully we won't be at risk of playing back-to-back nights again this season. Would love to get Osobor rested up (he looked absolutely gassed) and Falslev feeling a little better in the next week. Everything is house money from here on out. That's a good observ...

The Rebs are the hottest team in the MW right now, but aren't mentioned anywhere in any bracketology articles that I've seen (at least not reputable ones, though there are many and I don't see them all). They also are de facto hosts next week in the tournament. If the Rebs 1) beat Nevada this weeken...

Re: Who so you want at DC?

With having to let a "friend" in Cauthen go, this may cause Coach Anderson to steer clear of hiring Danny Gonzales. Unless he is explicitly directed to not hire a friend, I am assuming he will look to someone that he wants to have around and will fall in line (like all other coaches prefer when the...

YBA's Christmas Wishlist: Isaiah Neyor

If I remember correctly, we had a decent relationship and shot with Neyor the last time he was in the portal before the big schools started sniffing around. He's on scratch-and-dent pricing now, and I think he'd be a great target for us to essentially replace Vaughn if he's healthy. His last year at...

Please remember that we were only favored in 3 or 4 of our games and still pulled off 6.
So we overperformed slightly on expectations that we'd be terrible.

It’s clear our coaching staff doesn’t care, if Blake and/or Cauthen survive this the Athletic Department doesn’t care. Why tf should I? This is an embarrassing performance. No pressure, but he's the difference between 4-8 and 8-4 this year. - RB: I like our top three; I'm hoping we run for 175ish yards per game this year - WR : Not a ton of depth; put those starters' names on your local temple prayer ro...

As Larry mentioned, you could do two larger divisions at the cost of only seeing some teams once every 8 years at your home stadium.

A few notes on what is already a concept that won't happen: 1. I'd switch out UTEP for UTSA. 2. I'd love if AFA opted for an independent schedule instead and we could replace them with SJSU or Texas State. 3. This conference would be just as competitive if we replaced Wazzu and Oregon State with NDS...

Pretty sure you aren't allowed to mix school and player when it comes to NIL. So you could either have a player name and number on a non-school jersey, or a generic jersey number with no player name on a school jersey.
