Re: Realignment Predictions

Very interesting if true, and if it is, the MWC needs to try and get a couple of the BIG 12 teams while it’s imploding. You don’t want to get left behind while other G5 conferences get better.

Re: Who strikes first?

My only question is… would the Mountain West be able to survive without Boise? They may be an annoying team with an annoying fan base but there is zero doubt that they are the top money maker in the MW. Without their draw, I don’t see how the MW replaces them or that loss of revenue

Re: We got the home run hire in Odom.

I’m wondering where this statement came from? In a press conference? Radio interview? It just seems odd he would bring it up out of the blue. Either way this goes a loooong way for players and if coach and Snyder are really well connected he may even get him to come up in the offseason to work with...

Re: Coaching candidates

If the new coach is able to land a P5 job in a couple years, that means he had huge success here, just like Craig Smith, and I would be completely fine with that. People need to realize that Utah State isn’t going to be a job where coaches stay forever. Stew was amazing, but i don’t see someone like...

Re: Coaching candidates

I’m surprised we haven’t heard more names at this point. You’d think after a week, we’d have more then just the three mentioned in this thread. Does anyone know whether Hartwell decided to go with the search firm or not? That might explain why nothing has slipped through the cracks.

I’d also have to say that the running backs looked great today. There were quite a few different long runs by different players. Our tackling also looks a ton better compared to last year. Players are actually wrapping up instead of being weak and diving.

It’s not WHAT he did it’s HOW he did it.

He also mentioned how he knows basketball fans in the state love the rivalries and that he wants to keep the series going with BYU, and says they’ll play other in state teams, but if it won’t help their chances of making it to the tournament, they probably won’t schedule the games.

Re: It’s not WHAT he did it’s HOW he did it.

He said the “timing” was bad and that’s why he wasn’t able to meet in person with them. You’re telling me they couldn’t wait to do a press conference till Monday so he had time to tell his players and coaches instead of sending a lame text?

Re: Just here for the meltdown

Not gonna believe it until a much better source confirms it but I will be disappointed if he told his players specifically that he wasn’t going to Utah and then 5 days later takes the job. It’s legit. I had heard this would happen if Jensen turned down the job over a week ago. My posting history ve...

Re: Just here for the meltdown

I would cheer for Craig Smith whenever he went, but if he were to go to Utah, no way. There’s things you don’t do, and leaving your team to go to one of your instate rivals is one. I understand it’s about money but I would have a hard time finding respect for him if he goes. I will forever love what...

Not saying this is true... but Captain Smith most likely has 0 connections and is just having fun with the situation.

Re: Next year

I think we’ll be fine next year. Probably still top 4 in the MW. But I have no idea how we’re ever going to get over the tourney hump. I question whether we’ll ever be able recruit enough of the level of player we need to win these types of games. I just don’t see it. Queta is likely leaving. The o...

KAR: John Knight III and SUU

Was bummed that he transferred but it’s awesome to see him doing great somewhere else. Had 34 points today and helped SUU move on to the Big Sky semifinals. He was also on the second team all conference team. Love to see former Aggies succeed.

Re: How many scholarships do we have available?

The thing we need to remember is that there aren't an unlimited number of available scholarships at D1 programs. If you're going to enter the portal, you better be darn sure someone else will want you. Not that they all would, but if everyone left, half would probably end up paying for their own ed...

They did not. Diverted to Ogden.

I’m not believing this until I hear the comments Cockett made. She has been nothing but class since she got here, and has given a lot of focus to athletics. I have a hard time believing she didn’t hire Maile, just because of his LDS faith.

You all that are pointing the finger at Frank don’t have a clue. You should be pointing the finger at Mr. Hartwell the way he has handled this entire this is a complete embarrassment. I have lost a lot of respect for him. It’s absolutely 100% his fault. I hope somebody asks him straight up about it...

This is from KSL regarding Graham Harrell. There’s a ton of conflicting information out there regarding what happened with him. Why would we offer if we hadn’t even interviewed him?

Re: Why Harrell?

Just look at how North Texas has preformed since Harrell left. He was a key part of their offense and they’ve struggled since he left. When he got there, they had a bottom 25 offense, and by the time he left it was a top 25 offense.
