A friend that graduated from law school a few years after me is working on his 10 years in government service, after which the balance on his federal student loans will be forgiven. According to him, there is no tax hit as there typically is with loan forgiveness. I am not sure if the same plan appl...

Personally, I thought all of their players were on the offensive side of things.

Re: A Renewed Appreciation for the Fast Pace

One thing about the fast pace that is easy to forget with it being effective for us this year is that it only works if you get first downs. It just puts the defense back on the field quicker if it doesn't work. Like it is more harmful to go three and out, or even punt after one or two first downs i...

Re: How do we build the fanbase?

How do we build the fanbase? Simple. Increase enrollment. The key to a supportive fanbase is a solid base of supportive alums. The alums generate excitement in the community. USU's smaller enrollment is a big reason why our fanbase is smaller and why we sometimes struggle to sell out the stadium or...

Re: How do we build the fanbase?

Consistently winning is the necessary first step. I was a student at the start of the Stew Morrill era and have fond and vivid memories of games that probably skew my feelings toward USU generally and the basketball team in particular. The first memory that always comes to mind is the Troy Rolle dun...

Re: Should USU Create an Endowment for the Head FB Coaching Position?

As a student I remember speaking with the VP for Advancement and he said it required about $250,000 for an endowed scholarship fund. This was around 2000 (dang I'm getting older, but that is the goal) and tuition was something like $4,000 per year. I do not recall now whether that was for more than ...

I trust Hartwell will be able to bring in a solid coach that will be able to assemble a quality staff. The job is definitely more attractive than prior to GA coming along. Some of the reasons are: 1. The team is coming off a very good season and is returning a good number of important pieces, so the...

The team has an established history of only playing three quarters. The difference is that this season the team only needs to play three to win instead of the playing it close for three and then losing in the fourth.

At least one commentator thinks USU should be ranked before some of the other teams.
