Re: Don Verlin fired at Idaho

The administration at Idaho is a joke. Or rather, the way the state of Idaho handles the administration at its state universities is a joke, to the detriment of Idaho athletics.

At least that’s what I keep hearing from a buddy of mine who’s a Vandal alum

I think it might just be that, just like every other sport, players are just better at it now than they used to be.

Re: In light of the discussion about who counts as Aggie Legends

Depends entirely on the circumstances of the transfer. I think the guys like Collette who bail on their fellow Aggies at the last second forfeit their “Always an Aggie” designation. I don’t think this is the case with very many people who transfer out, it’s more the exception than the rule.

Re: The week 0 of world cup soccer qualifying is tonight

USA losing to Jamaica tonight isn’t giving much hope for WCQ, even if it was “just a friendly” with an “experimental roster” Aside from Bradley and Altidore that team was very inexperienced. I'm just glad Arena isn't around. Hopefully we really do have a plan moving forward. Jamaica played well, bu...

I’d rather have a good team than a good locker room.

I expect both, but right now it seems each school has just one of each... although I’m not convinced it really puts ours to shame

Re: With Queta coming back I'm calling it.

I think the record will be as good or better. I know teams will be gunning for us, but I don’t think that really makes a huge difference. In most cases we’ll still be the better team and Coach Smith is the kind of guy who gets the most out of his players every single game. There will be some losses,...

The student section will be moderately better, but anyone expecting the same atmosphere as the SDSU and Nevada games at the end of the season will be very disappointed. I’m sure it will be better overall with one or two games that are REALLY good

Considering the problems he has with ball security, it might be worth still bringing him in but moving him to linebacker since that position doesn't require ball security.
In fact, you could say that position encourages a lack of ball security

I think we lose to Wake , LSU, FSU and SDS. Toss up with BSU and YBU Still a very good season. I agree with everything you said except BYU-P being a tossup. We were WAY better than them last year and they don’t show any sign of surpassing us this year, not to mention the fact that we’ll be at home.

Seems pretty fair to me since he’s talking about overall success in the MWC. He also said that Nevada lost the best coach in the MWC when Musselman was hired away. Musselman was clearly not the best coach last year, but overall he’s got more titles and wins in the conference than Smith...

I'll bite and open the possibility of being mocked. Will we go undefeated? Almost certainly not. Would it be the most extreme thing to happen? I don't think so. Won't know until we see our OOC schedule, but we are certainly capable of winning every MW game. Take the 2010-2011 season we only lost 3 ...

We will do well next season, but unlike this year we’ll have a target on our back and get everyone’s best shot. Nevada will drop quite a bit but a lot of other teams will be much better. A MWC championship repeat is a possibility but an undefeated record up to that point is a pipe dream, IMO

BYU fans and writers have always had delusions of grandeur, and have always sincerely believed that they have enough influence to just blow up any conference they want and create a “better” one with them in it. When your team sucks, all you have is the past, and when that isn’t enough, you have wish...
