Thank you my man. I wasn't dialed in to the Tech 2020 lineup and you were very aware.Aggiefan33 wrote: ↑February 26th, 2021, 3:56 pmTalking about Texas Tech.

Young men have a special attitude, an expectation of success and having their dreams come true, especially at Q B. Henri isn't chopped liver, and the incumbent Tech Q B transferred when it became apparent Henri would be the man. This will take some time, especially as Henri is now familiar with his...

Ah, times past when football was played on real grass, in the mud and at times snow. At the end of the game it was like a game trophy to walk to the locker rooms dirty, muddy and at times more. NOSTALGIA....

Even playing a couple of NIT games would keep UTAH STATE in the sports headlines and regular office banter so no quarrel there. Agreed that a game or even two in the BIG DANCE would be a double boost to our AGGIES both financially and with a national profile.

Foot stress fractures can be slow to heal, or at least feel good enough to play on. Good point GUS. Considering the entire weight of the body can shift to a full load on a single foot, a stress fracture can be both long lasting and slow to recover. Doesn't look good right now, but we just don't hav...

Re: Before There Was Such a Thing as a Superbowl,
Loved watching those game highlights 78. Nostalgia for when playing on natural turf was fun, dirty and real. I remember walking to our locker room and showering with my uniform on. Seemed to be a good move, and the dirt, mud and water in front of my locker wasn't as bad as those who didn't "RINSE OF...

Re: Desnews article on Utah FB scheduling
I had that UVU has been planning (at least talking about) to add football for several years. This has evidently been a long-term goal. It is the largest university (public or private) in the state. It is only natural that they have aspirations of adding football. This will only be to the detriment ...

Re: Desnews article on Utah FB scheduling
I suspect Utah believes they have too much on the line if they don't blow us out or heaven forbid, even lose a game to Utah State. Their PAC12 Conference alignment and their budget make them expected winners in football and most likely basketball contests. Seems to me that with Utah playing Utah Sta...

The Colonel did Utah State Football no favors when he went our of his way to very publicly announce the downsized SEATING CAPACITY at ROMNEY STADIUM. The prior 30,000 plus capacity had never been challenged prior to his internally directed gaff.

Like USU78 said, staying too long can be anathema to ongoing success. Much like the house guest who leaves too soon, the vibe is positive as opposed to one who just keeps hanging around.

Aside from all the drama in the report, I wanted to start a separate thread on the -- I believe previously unknown -- meeting between Cockett and Maile where he campaigned for himself and outlined his recruiting strategy of: 1) Polynesians 2) Locals 3) Return missionaries While these are all key bu...

I recall those game film reviews, and the candor of Chuck Mills saying it like he saw it. I also recall the blowout of Utah at Romney Stadium. Tony Adams was on fire that day as he lit the Redskins up for some 40 odd points. Coach Mills did hold a game film review with a Q & A session of much candor...

Yeah, I was in Oklahoma City with the Aggie BB team when Phil Krueger was announced as Chuck's replacement and one of the sports writers covering the Aggies said something to the effect, "Thanks goodness (sic), maybe the new coach will talk to the press." The Memphis State game in SLC was not a res...

Bob Wilson speaks of the 1967 Memphis State game, a return game that was interestingly enough played in SLC at Ute Stadium in a misguided attempt to gather a crowd for the game.... that was not a rewarding idea. Our AGGIES won that Memphis State game, and because the stadium was quite casually fille...

Loved the old reprobate. My favorite quote, referring to the stogie he was always munching on and rarely lit up: "A woman is only a woman, but a good cigar, that's a smoke!" Chuck was an exceptional hire for Utah State. IIRC he was the D C for the Kansas City Chiefs and wanted to take the next step...

I expect future potentially tenuous meetings like this disaster will be properly recorded and with a firm itinerary published in advance. The lingering recriminations, emotions and finger pointing are so non beneficial and negative to Utah State University and our school president.

Seems we've had little good fortune with the 4 down linemen set. As has been noted here, the 6-3/4 275 lb plus D Ends are in high demand and short supply, so at USU we moved to a 3 - 4 set. This offers some stunting options for a defense that may be out maned by heavier, bulkier O linemen. In 2019 w...

It's usually best to know what the competition (the enemy) is up to. I even keep a casual eye on the pair of schools south of Ogden. For all we know, BS may become more pliable with their future league demands. Failing that, the other MWC school presidents may actually have enough spine to demand a ...

I'm just old school with uniform colors my friends. White helmets, Navy jerseys, white pants at home. White top to bottom when traveling with Navy Blue pants from time to time. Certainly not opposed to a unique change up at times, but no fan of the designer combinations over the past few years. A we...

Yeah - Spartans getting embarrassed in the first quarter of their bowl game. A pick 6, a blocked punt that just got punched in, no offense whatsoever. Considering the excellent B B hire Hartwell made I would expect the same insight prevailed this time with Coach Anderson from Arky State. After the earlier so called "splash" hire failed to arrive, it seems to me Hartwell made an excellent choice. Having said this I would expect that Coach Anderson ...
