Re: Nearly 7 weeks and still no word...

I just saw Queta at the hospital cafeteria. He said the surgery went well and he texted me a copy of his post surgery x-ray. He requested that I send it to Kyle Goon. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a9/X_ray_internal_fixation_leg_fracture.jpg/330px-X_ray_internal_fixation_leg...

Re: Yards per play

I have a few points here that I think make these numbers slightly misleading. Regarding the offense, our 'yards per play' stat last year was really brought down by 3 cold weather games. Wyoming, CSU & Boise. Outside of those cold weather games it was significantly higher. We have not played a cold ...

Re: Nevada just won on a 56 yard field goal!

We could kick that 10,000 times and it would never go through the uprights. Not. One. Time. I completely disagree. It would go through the uprights several times but a yellow flag would come out for delay of game, holding, offsides, disconcerting signals (I know it is a defensive penalty but I've n...

I knew it was the wrong play and was chiding the Facebook announcers. The play before the fumble Warren got it at the 12 and ran to the 5. The fumble play we started at the 5, he made it to about the 3 and lost the ball. Real time looked like a fumble to me. The replay they showed Warren clearly sta...

I thought Williams was solid last year but he looked unplayable tonight. Really surprised at him. Soft coverage paired with bad tackling and he got beat on a couple longer passes. Williams got torched last year too...he did make up for it with some big picks. Our secondary was stretchy last year, t...

Re: Favorite elements from game 1

Unfortunately, Nathan dropped a swing pass in 2nd half on 2nd and 1 that would have been a first down that we punted on, could have changed the game. BUT, overall excited about his play and all receivers. We had two drops but wake had several including a TD drop so I can't complain.

Not normally a huge Rome fan but this was the second time in my life I've really liked something he did. The first was 25 years ago during the OJ Simpson trial and Rome ended his segment by saying "I hate OJ."

Love it, nearly all these plays are plays that coaches and teammates notice. Sure, showing speed on the TD is nice and hurdling a guy is fun but the other two plays stand out. By the way, the hurdle play was called back but the best part of that play is it looks like it was designed to go to his lef...

Re: My All Time Starting 5

I don't disagree so far but it is amazing to me after so many years of Aggie basketball that a center who has played for 1 year as a freshman makes the all-time team. I guess in my life we've had years without a true 5, we've had a few solid centers but no one outstanding. Power Forward is a differe...

I don’t think there are any stat models that will do that. We also don’t have a snap shot of Washington at the end of the season. I do. I watched their championship game vs Oregon and couldn’t help but think USU can easily do to them what Pritchard did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'm with W...

Nice rewards coming in for Coach Smith. There may be other incentives, but he's up to $60,000 extra. $25000 each for being co-champs and winning tournament, and now an extra $10000 for being in top 25 in AP poll. To lazy to look it up on my phone but doesn't Smith get $10,000 for being coach of the...

Huskies slow it down hoping to jack up a long contested 3 as the shot clock expires. This leads to fewer possessions.

Having got my masters from UW, after our win I went to the PAC-12 championship game. This is what I saw. That game was atrocious and hard to watch. Interesting thread. We only have 2-3 sets but probably many variations that players run based on what defense is giving. On the other hand at the end of the SDSU-Nevada game, without any timeouts Nevada looked completely lost even with 4 seniors on court. No sets, just 1-1 with bad shot. Contrast to...

Merrill's "toe on the line" call was very telling imo. the ref was adamant that it was only a two. He was way out of position and basically guessed that Sam's toe was on the line. The 1990 UNLV game when they were #2 was the infamous (read: legendary) water bomb game which cost us three points due to technical fouls at the beginning of the second half. We lost by 2. I think the bomb was intended to be payback for the massive brawl in our game down there earlier in the year s...
