Re: Falslev in the portal

I don't blame any kid for putting his name in the portal when the coach leaves like this. I don't think they should enter with the intent to leave but to be ready for an opportunity if they don't like the new hire. Although some of these kids might enter as a precautionary measure and then see cash ...

Re: Falslev will be entering the portal

Johnson may stay. The rest are gone. I just hope Falslev doesn't go to BYU, although I expect that's where he'll end up. everyone tells me that he hates BYU so i have no idea why anyone would ever think he would jump ship like that. So did Zach Wilson growing up as a Utah fan. Yeah but the Utes did...

Re: Keeping Our Guys

Sorry if this has been brought up before and maybe Aggies22 can enlighten us more. But I was told once that foreign born athletes are not able to be paid NIL money. I am sure there are ways that collectives or local donors or businesses can get around those rules, but I would assume that might help...

Re: "This isnt our last game together"

Get over it. It's happened here, it's happened everywhere else. It happened before and it will happen again. It's the nature of the business. I know it sucks but the way people react here is just ridiculous. The persecution syndrome here is thriving. It’s not that he left. I don’t mind that he left...

Let's not forget that our worst football coach ever was also from Montana, so I don't think saying you are from Montana is the magic potion.

Doesn't mean he won't come here but that he can look elsewhere. I'm sure the new coach will contact him and try to rerecruit him to Logan. Was Sprinkle the primary recruiter or was one of the assistants? If we keep the assistant we might be able to keep Kase.

Re: Andy Hill

I'd be good with Hill if he can retain some of the players. Otherwise, I think Simon sounds good, but can he bring anyone with him? In today's game you have to be able to either retain or bring players with you. Nevermind that Brown and Osobor were first team all-MWC, if they came from other places ...

I mean, it’s not like there isn’t a major metro area 45 minutes away. Logan isn’t Antarctica. Are you single? Are you Sprinkle's age? If you are single, have you lived in Logan and tried to date someone in Salt Lake? Because I am close to Sprinkle's age, and am single, and have dated women in SLC. ...

Re: Next Contract

I would prefer to stick with the proven formula of a head coach with a prove track record of turning lower level programs around. Not that interested in an assistance. Also today, you almost need to hire a head coach so he has players to bring with him. On the players note. I agree but is it better...

Re: Two Random Questions

I'll add to your #2 above is that by floating the $2M offer you tell prospective head coaches that there is a lot of room for salary growth if they are successful. You don't get it to start but put together conference winning teams and there will be increases. For me, when I look at other possible l...

Re: Next Contract

The more I think about it the more I want Andy Hill. He could keep a few guys here and he wouldn't be able to jump after one season as I don't think the P5s come calling after 1 season overall of being a head coach. Hill knows what he has here and knows what he can make if he is successful. If I'm H...

It's only a matter of time before USU, UCLA and others tire of (among other things) 1. Traveling all sports teams back East 2. Not being competitive with the top of the B1G10 3. Constantly loosing local recruits to conference rivals And look to reform or re-join some version of the old Pac12. USU j...

Re: MW transfer portal tracker

I'd take Amey, but it would depend on who we lose, he isn't a point guard so we'd have to lose someone to make room for him. And when Amey says he has been contacted by USU does that mean Washington as an extension of that? For everyone else in the transfer portal I'd probably pass on everyone but P...

You look at the best coaches. When you have narrowed to a list of people you think can do the job then you have to look at whether Hill can get players to return that would leave otherwise or if a new coach can bring two MWC caliber starters with him. Can't afford to just bring s coach anymore. With...

Dave Hall is sitting a row in front of me on my flight from Denver. I nearly went back in the terminal to try to find a SDSU shirt so I could wear it and berate him the whole flight. Problem with Lunardi is he has us as the AQ, so that means winning the tournament, then he has Nevada and SDSU as 5 seeds. No way we win the tournament and regular season and be added against both those teams. We'd likely beat them both this week or they go out early. I understand you can move a tea...

Before the FT attempts, a ref goes up and talks to House for a little bit, hiding his mouth. I’m positive he knew what House was thinking and was likely telling him that he needed to hit the rim. Then doesn’t make the call afterwards. I was baffled. I think the players were confused as well since t...
