Re: Offensive Play Calling- Have we run a single trick play?

If memory serves me correctly the fake punt on our 20 yard line against Boise if not trickery was pretty bold. Of course trickery is not necessarily synonymous with effective.

If we didn’t have Bonner we would be 0-2 right now, the guy is a stud, he’s going to lead this team to some good wins this year Agree 100 %!! Quick reads and release compensate for questionable arm strength. That attribute is much needed… takes pressure off the O-Line. He’s a gamer. For a chubby 23...

Really disappointing. It reinforces my concerns - not about Coach Smiths ability to - coach but to recruit. Ashworth and Worster admittedly young seem questionable as to whether they are really upper tier MWC talent. If Coach Smith stays, next year will be the first real direct test of his ability t...

Rato - You really piqued my interest. Wish you could say more. Perhaps you can tell us after the fact who was in that surprising pool. Here is a Craig Smith kind of hire - young and up and coming and under the radar...I would think Boise's passing coordinator and receivers coach - age 29 - Matt Mill...

Really nice to shift to some of the positives. Improvements across the board...well with one exception. Warren and Henry Cole real nice games. O line despite the sacks did a decent job today. Receivers also were able to get separation but the balls were poorly thrown. Special teams were much improve...

Blue Grouse - Nice point. I read an article out of Corvalis - a place where Gary is universally loathed - gave a good albeit perhaps biased analysis of how GA has built his career on ruining QB situations - references Wisconsin, Oregon State, and Utah State. I looked but can't seem to find the link ...

Hopefully the board can get beyond Gary's personal failing...I am the first to admit that I was one of the early birds to bring to light the strangeness of his OSU departure. I have never been high on his coaching and even less so on his character but find myself feeling sad for Gary and his family....

Aggie Formerly in Hawaii - the debate is no longer whether JS is athletic and has speed. Perhaps GA and BR are not so bad and may be grappling with the same Mississippi State issues? “Yes, 24-2. Really would like some insider perspective here. I am upside down as an outsider looking in. For me losing to BSU and SDSU is not the source of my heart burn. Jordan Nathan is back there for a reason...a very good reason...he simply has the hands, nerves, and judgment that it takes to excel back there. Seldom makes a mistake and at least for last year we were middle to upper tier in return yards.

Not ready to give up on GA or JS. As Roy or someone put proper perspective on all of this...this is a developmental team on a 2 to 3-year trajectory. Just had an update on Jordan Love from my two scout buddies who were at the NFL combine. There has been a positive upward shift.
