Re: NAR: Coach Cal to Arkansas

Cal's walking into a blank slate. Arkansas doesn't have a single returning scholarship player. I'm sure Cal will be able to restock with a lot of talented players, but it's nice to see the bigger programs also deal with mass player exodus when a coach leaves.

Calling my shot here. I have no sources and part of it may be wishful thinking, but based on the interview from Sabau, the best fit for what she is looking for is Josh Schertz. Would be ecstatic to have him. I did correctly guess Craig Smith back in the day. Feel free to excoriate me if wrong :-) I...

I love that who the usu basketball account follows and unfollows this week is cited as evidence. Fun stuff.
I'm guessing someone in the AD is reading this board and strategically following other coaches just to troll us.

I for one would love nothing more than for Alabama basketball to suck. Too many Alabama fans that will crow about their basketball team while never having attended a game and likely only know one or two player names, if that. Seriously, I respect BYU basketball fans more than them. Bama basketball ...

I'm done speculating. There is so much garbage out there from people I deem credible, the only person I would trust at this point would be Diana Sabau and even then I might ask to see the contract in her hand. I've been comparing notes on Twitter with @aggies22 and I'm just baffled by the whole thi...

Hey Aggies, It's me, Coach K, and I'm here to confirm I've received an offer. Thanks, Diana! A few questions for you: 1. I love to ski. Where's the best ski resort near Utah State? 2. I love ice cream. Any good ice cream shops near campus? 3. I'm looking for a good greasy spoon diner. Does Logan ha...

Re: For those who are freaking out about Kowalczyk

This whole lovefest over Simon is built on a bunch of hypotheticals. "Simon could have Dave Rice as an assistant." How likely would Rice be to work for a former assistant? Would Rice want to come back to Logan- a place he only stayed for a year? Is Simon's success truly dependent on having Rice as a...

I think this is a good hire. I would have been fine with Simon, as well.

Haven't most people been saying it's the program, not the coach? Just plug in somebody with prior head coaching experience and we'll be fine? I hope we can keep the pattern (minus the coach leaving in shorter times).

Given what Sprinkle did here in one year, I don't think there will be a lot of patience for whoever comes in. Having 1-2 years of mediocre success will probably have that coach on a very hot seat entering year 3.

What about Bucky McMillan the Samford head coach? Had a very impressive team this year. I think he'd do great, but he's not leaving Alabama to head to Logan. Not necessarily a cultural thing, more of a geographical issue. He grew up just down the road from Samford. He'll likely stay in the southeas...
