Re: Davon Booth to Transfer
Blake Anderson isn't the problem. The collective isn't the problem. Booth got poached. Fitzgerald got poached. We cannot keep up with the offers that are flowing in from P4 schools. This is an unsustainable model for MOST G5 schools, their donors, and their fan bases. Dead on. If anything, it's sho...

Re: One easily forgotten QB move BA made that turned out to be good
I agree with this. I feel bad for Coop, but if Petras is better, than Petras is better. Blake's job is to put the best team out on the field as he can, and he seems to be doing that this year.

Can it be disclosed what happened? Barnes doesn't surprise me. I was surprised we signed him honestly. He never was able to do more than one read at Utah. Blake might be able to help him, but it will take time.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑April 4th, 2024, 8:33 pmI am a little bit surprised at how high Petras is on the QB depth chart and how low Barnes is on the QB depth chart.

Re: Shout out to Hans and Scotty G
Scotty has been giving the Aggies quite a bit of coverage in basketball this year. But they barely ever cover the flaming diaper that has been our football program the last two years. They cover it, they just don’t ask Blake any actual questions and just kiss his (I can't express myself without swe...

Shout out to Hans and Scotty G
Yesterday, the majority of their show was dedicated to highlighting USU athletics. All three hours had an interview with one of our coaches. It's been a long time since I've ever seen the SLC media give USU that type of airtime. I've complained about this for years, so I'm going to make sure I give ...

Re: 2024 USU FOOTBALL SPRING BALL: The Quarterback Battle
I have zero faith in BAs ability to manage the QB position. Sorry, hope he proves me wrong. I was hoping that one of the transfers easily beats Legas out. Nothing against him, he's a gamer, but we have seen a season with him at the helm. Was hoping for an upgrade. I can understand questioning the d...

Re: 2024 USU FOOTBALL SPRING BALL: The Quarterback Battle
Offense was far from our biggest problem last year, and QB was far from the biggest problem with our offense. An improved defense would make us competitive even if the offense stayed the same, which it won’t. Dead on, we went 6-6 in spite of our defense. We would not have done that without a produc...

WIthout Johnson's 19 points, we don't win. Nobody, and I mean nobody expected that. And I said this week that he had to be a factor, not a liability. Well, he was more than a factor! We rested Great for the final 6 minutes of the game. Even with an average game from the big fish we still would have...

history has taught me to expect deer in the headlights confusion and flat performances I'm going to disagree with this. I don't expect that reaction from this team. I'm really pissed about our seeding, but selfishly I'm really excited to see the Aggies play in person this year.

Re: Keys to beating TCU:
1. Great Osobor NEEDS to make free throws. He will be a mismatch and he will get TCU into foul trouble. 2. Brown NEEDS to take more shots. He should take more shots than everyone except Great. When Brown is aggressive, we win games. 3. Limit turnovers. TCU likes to pressure, similar to SDSU. 4. We ...

Which is more desirable? Beat UNM for sole MWC championship? Or Win our first ncaa tourney game? For me, it’s winning a first round NCAA tournament game. Pretty sure we will be in ncaa even if we lose to UNM. First round of the NCAA tourney. We need to get the monkey off our back, and it would do a...

Re: Todays college football climate
College football needs to figure this out. Every professional sport has structure when it comes to contracts and commitment to the team you're playing for. I personally would like to see there be a cap to NIL. I'd propose having tiers with how much players can get paid. Something along the lines of ...

Re: The stupid format of the short turnaround
As much as I hate it, this plays more into our favor than other teams who rely more on the three-point shot. It's easier to score in the paint when your legs are tired than to shoot 40% from three.

I'd prefer to have Queta or another big time shot blocker at the 5 and put Osobor at the 4. We would dominate the paint every game.

Chuckie Keeton back at RB coach.
Just kidding, I don't think that's going to happen, but the fact of the matter is Chuckie is the common denominator to every successful team we've had over the past 15 years.

1. Keep Cooper Legas and Jaylen Royals healthy
2. Improved offensive line play (I'm hopeful on this one)
3. Have the skill players play at least as well as they did last year.
Do those three things and we'll have the best offense in the Mountain West.

Definitely an up and commer. Played LB, a position we need help with. Wonder what control he'll have over the rest of the defensive staff. A bit of a roll of the dice. I like it. Agreed. If he can help our defense learn some gap integrity and be stout against the run, we're going to have a very com...

Scotty G made a really good point about McCae Hillstead's injuries yesterday. I think the coaches are going to redshirt him and give him the year to fully recover.
