Re: Future of USU Football

I could be wrong but I think if we had some lock down corners it would change the whole dynamic of the defense. I am firmly in the “we have the talent” camp - we played LSU better than several big name schools, the 2019 team got progressively worse as the season went on, and Tipa’s results were much...

Re: 4th down

I could be off, but in watching the replay of the 4th down attempt, it looked like Love wanted to keep the ball. It looked like Love had a clear path to the end zone, but Bright may have forced the issue.by not releasing the ball. IDK, just looked that way to me. :noidea: I thought the exact same t...

Look, disgruntled players and parents will always have something to (I can't express myself without swearing) about. The bottom line is Coach Wells did a tremendous amount of good for this program.

I’m not offended. It’s just my opinion that your opinions (stated as facts) are wrong. Most people don’t feel the way you do. Most people didn’t experience Matt the way you did.

Yes I am fully aware. She could be Matt’s sister and my take wouldn’t be any different. Tania has been a solid contributor no doubt. She has also been wrong multiple times. In this post I believe her perspective is narrow and emotionally driven off course.

This board’s ability to s*** on the coach who brought Utah State the longest period of sustained football success in recent memory never ceases to amaze me. I don’t really understand why Gary is so loved and Matt is so hated. They both do things that drive me bananas, but both are good (not great) ...

I think yes, even considering ‘91. This year we will play 3Top 25 teams, BYU and a conference schedule that is very stout. SDSU, Fresno and AF could all be fringe top 25.

I am usually a MW defender, wish he would have stayed and hope he does well. But, he did drive me crazy in tight games. The New Mexico game of the 3-9 season haunts me. This years Wake Forest game is helping me forget it though.

Re: USU defense just as good as Florida vs LSU

I think the Defense is getting better every week, even the DBs held their own considering it was a high powered passing attack. if we could just get some adrenaline injected into the the offense.
Side note -I’d play two money games per year if we could have Aranda back.

Re: Let's Be Honest About Who We Are

I am just disappointed we gave up. We were going toe to toe with one of the best teams in the country and doing well for most of H1. When our boys walked up the tunnel i could tell we were in for a long afternoon. They came out of the tunnel just as flat and never played with any fire the rest of th...

Did NC sit their starters because Clemson is the # 1 team in the country? Did CSU sit their starters because we were 24 point favorites? Do you sit down to pee? Show some confidence, play your best. They aren’t from another planet- we’ve played teams with this size and speed before. It might be slim...

We should have beaten Wake We had our chances but the better team won. They didn't make mistakes and we did. That's what defines the better team. I assume you meant they made fewer mistakes. And remembering that the coaches are part of the team team too, I agree,-we made more mistakes and it cost u...

I just wished we would have slowed down on the hurry up offense. But great job coaches. D was fantastic and O moved t...

Yes! Finally, thank you coaches! We ran the same offense that gave us the lead in the first place. Yes we missed the FG, but we got some first downs burnt the clock and we kept big mo on our side which carried over to the defense.

Re: We miss Yost

A few criticisms: 1. Yost seemed to have a really good feel for when to call running plays at our tempo. We seemed to do best when we went short completion, short completion, and then ran the ball. Our running game seemed less effective when we ran after incompletions or on first down. Sanford seem...

Look, nobody cares about one specific play. There was obviously a conscious decision to safety up and try to burn the clock out. That decision cost us the game- plain and simple. Yes we were up at that point, but we aren’t a top tier SEC or Big Ten team, we are a spread offense The way we control th...

I watched this horse race yesterday. There was this one horse that stumbled a few times, but found itself with a narrow lead on the last turn. Then, suddenly, the jockey hooked a plow to the horse down the stretch! I know, I couldn't believe it either. Needless to say, the horse lost. Now, maybe if...

Players made mistakes, and if they had played a cleaner game and executed better we would have won. The reason everyone is pissed is because the talent we had at our ...

I can’t wait to watch our defense. With the talent level we have and the defensive genius of our coaches, I expect we will see many different looks through the season.
