Re: Hoops Spring Signing Period Begins Today

Anderson has been updated in 247 to the number 13 jc player. https://247sports.com/college/utah-state/Season/2019-Basketball/Commits/ Things just keep getting better! I knew Alphonso would get re-ranked. FYI, they have his position listed incorrectly on the ranking, which also affects his overall p...

A lineup that I have fantasized about:

1 Merrill
2 Bairstow
3 McChesney
4 Stall
5 Quetta

Lol probably will never happen but I can dream
The best lineup that I hope for at this time:
1 Porter
2 Merrill
3 Bairstow
4 McChesney
5 Queta

https://utahstateaggies.com/news/2019/4/17/sean-bairstow-signs-with-utah-state-mens-basketball.aspx Some stuff that caught my eye. Bairstow, a 6-foot-8, 185-pound guard , averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds per game at Churchie. More notably, Bairstow was a member of the U19 Australian National Team ...

Re: Hoops Spring Signing Period Begins Today

Watching more Bairstow highlights, two things that jumped out to me. There was a lot of dunks, and it is oddly similar to Queta in that he could completely overwhelmed college basketball with his unique build and speed and attack the rim and willingness to pass the ball.

I wish Queta would stay for another year because he and the whole team could have made a serious run in the NCAA tournament, and Queta could have gone really early in the draft in 2020. I wish him luck and hope the best for Queta.

the TO number is a concern with Toolson in that it might be something that holds him back. Yeah, his 4.0 turnovers per 100 possessions might really "hold him back" except that a whopping nine Aggie players averaged either virtually identical or in some cases significantly worse turnover numbers per...

I agree with 2004AG on this one. Honorable mention All American, WAC POY, Elite shooter, interest from several P5 Schools. Sign now, figure out logistics later. Every reasonable person agrees with this including myself, but the TO number is a concern with Toolson in that it might be something that ...

I haven't watched Jake play except when they played us, I guess, and he didn't have a great game against us... But his stat line is very impressive. First of all, he's the WAC player of the year. He won that award over NMSU's team of Frank's all-stars who all run 4.3 40's. Let's take a look at his ...

Most likely BYU since he went to BYU then transfer to UVU and UVU's coach is now BYU's coach, but Toolson had to be amazed to what happen at Utah State and being part of a winning team is hard to refuse.

This means that we are in the preseason rankings already similar to Nevada’s situation last preseason. This also means that we have a great opportunity to get a great seed next season.

Re: We have an open spot.

We lost both Knights and Ainge. If we don’t pickup a PG and Abel gets injured during the season, we’d likely need to have Sam and Brito fill the role. With due respect to Sam and Brito, I’d really like to see us pickup an athletic PG via juco or grad transfer. Queta, Anderson, Bean, Groot, McChesne...

Are we going to be unbeaten next season?

I know that it is crazy to think, and I would not guaranteed it. I see that the ceiling of this team is really high, and we have potential of being the Gonzaga of the MWC. Even we have some tough games in the season, this team for next season could win all the tough games.

Not surprising, Nevada has no where near the talent going into next season. Pretty much everything that made the Nevada this season is gone.
It is clear that we were the knockout punch to the whole Nevada basketball program.

Let's be real. If we were in the same conference with BYU regardless what conference it would be awesome. The whole rivalry would have even more meaning than before. I would love to replace San Jose State (they do nothing for the conference) with BYU (actual good sports and viewership).

I don't get it. Reminds of many players who do this, remember that Wyoming QB from years who disappeared after declaring for draft said that it is a bad to declare early.
