Red Zone Offense

Our inept performance in the redzone….. It's in our heads now. The coaches, the players, the other team and the fans. It's almost something you can see and feel like a blanket. We're going out of character to address it. (Love trying to run the ball into the EZ by going head to head w/defenders) Lov...

I like our traditional uni's. Speaking of Uni's, I'm a big fan of the Wyo uniform. I love their cowboy logo and think their colors look cool especially in this period of neon colors and Christmas ornament helmets

Re: The Delay handoff....

Goal line is not where you call plays where there are decisions / options. Sure they can work but it's not what you see pro teams do. Short yardage scoring plays are more of a special skill than they appear. Pete Banazack wasn't a great RB, but he had a knack for scoring on goal line plays. He wasn...

Somebody said he mishandled a few snaps. Not me..... but really smart people are saying it. Other people are saying he should have taken a seat on the bench after the mishandled snap. Unforced red zone errors? Take a perp walk off the field and stand by GA until he says your timeout is over. Never g...

Re: We ALWAYS miss field goals in that situation

You know what? I'm going to give GA credit for that. Here's why, GA had the best sideline demeanor I've seen. (at least when the camera found him) He stayed positive, the team felt that positive vibe, they stayed composed.....Like Gary. This could have been the end of our season. Gary didn't get cau...

That looked like an option where both Love and Bright didn't want the ball. LOL. I can laugh because we won, but cmon man!!!!! Incredible catch. Really happy for J. Nathan. He seems to be the guy Sanford puts in to make the toughest catches. Love hasn't always given him a chance. A lot of the throws his way look like throwaways.

Man, I hope he doesn't transfer. Can't we block that? Make him sit a year? He needs another year to develop. Kinda like Queta. I don't think he's as high a draft pick as people are saying. You know saying that stuff is good for TV ratings, get some people to watch a USU game to see a "potential pro"...

Great memory GFA I was there for the timeout in San Jose and you are correct, it was exactly the same thing that Gruden did. Didn't our coach say it was a player that made the call? There was definate confusion on our sidelines. It seems like SJS was really scrambling to get to the line and get a p...

Re: Any Woodward news?

How much did Woody being out effect the team? We were flat coming out of the locker room. Seems like something effected the teams moral. They were complacent according to mediots who are only casual fans. It was easy to see we weren't mentally ready. At first I thought the weight of the season had f...

Re: Is it Colombi time?

After watching the game again last night I really have to question why we didn't see Colombi for a series or two just to let Jordan watch the game from a different perspective. BYU was bringing 3 guys on most downs with a LB as the 4th guy that would approach late and usually spy Love or pick up th...

The coaches haven't disciplined Love for any of his mistakes and it's too late to start now. He really could have benefited from some constructive discipline. Like I've said before, it's unacceptable for him to make certain mistakes on certain parts of the field. If he had learned that early this se...

This is devastating. Clearly Woody has been playing hurt for a few games.

I think he was injured before the season even started. Hasn't been 100% all year. Man, I'm surprised how the team can keep these injuries secret. Goes to show you how little (or how poor) media coverage we have.

Nothingburger of an interview. Really don't need to hear from Sanford, his offense tells the story. He had the advantage in game 1, but since then other teams have had pretty good success stopping us. It's a fine line to be critical because we are 3-1, so I'm still watching and waiting. Great analysis Hick. Glad we agree that the teams struggles are offensive not defensive. My take is a little different. You are still 100% right with your points, I'm just going to throw in my worthless opinion. We has the advantage of speed vs AF. We could have spread the field. Let love use his go...

Fixed the title. I think we are physically superior on defense and the D is playing incredible ball right now. I see their offensive strength in their QB play. We have Woody in the middle waiting for their QB to come out and play-yeah. I like that matchup. On offense? I like the matchup of our WR's ...

Agree that stats aren't capturing what we are as a team. Not only is that due to the competition, it's due to the development of our Defense and I believe the increasing predictability of our offense. Other teams have film of the Sanford/Love offense and they are game planning against it with some s...

Self Scouting over the bye week

I see a lot of patterns emerging on offense. I'm sure any team we're facing down the stretch have also noticed. It's on film and we are pretty predictable. I want to give Sanford the benefit of the doubt here, but I also want to see if we come out this week doing the same things we've done or if we'...

LSU is not "miles" behind Alabama in talent level. That has never been the case. The issue when we face Bama has always been offensive scheme. We were basically stubborn and running into a 9 man front and refusing to back down. Go back and look at the scores in the series. Until the last few years,...

Re: Holding not being called?

If they are holding? Our guys need to flail around actively try to disengage. Make the hold obvious! If you're just standing there with the other player holding you, that's not a hold.

It becomes a penalty when you go for the ball carrier and the guy impedes your progress by holding you.
