Hartwell is a smart dude. At the very least I expect a restructuring of Smith's contract to add a year or two. This might include a raise now, or larger increases in salary over the next few years, and an increased buyout.

I can't imagine we'd just sit on our hands for another year...

Read that he is weighing his options and might not end up at BYU. 6’9”guy with a 7’2” wingspan from Wasatch Academy originally from Brazil. Yeah, that article was embarrassing. All the best teams are already in the MWC, with the exception of Gonzaga. Don't take teams from the Big West, they will all have their up and down years. Honestly, I think St. Mary's will go down hard when their coach retires.
