Re: In all seriousness

Why aren't we able to get Merrill open shots? Why does he have to work so hard to get a shot? Every game I watch the team's best shooter is able to get open via screens, set plays, picks, etc., and they get open looks a few times a game. Merrill has to create all on his own. Do we run set plays for...

Re: On the bright side

In today’s basketball, you’ve got to have perimeter shooting. You can win with Porter as your PG if Miller and Brito can shoot. They can’t. You can win with Miller as your SF/SG if Porter and Brito can shoot. They can’t. You can win with Brito if Porter and miller can shoot. They can’t. We have thre...

That’s probably a big over-simplification. Yes, we miss him but that’s not the only reason we have lost so many games to crappy teams.

Re: Regressing to the mean

Personally, I think the apparent chemistry issues are basketball-fit related. Bean is a better player than Taylor in a vacuum, but Taylor was a better fit with Queta. When two of your three best players are bigs that don’t shoot, you’re going to have to do some line-up gymnastics. Here’s hoping Smi...

I’ve seen nothing that would give me hope that Smith won’t trot out the same 5 guys. Miller and Brito aren’t going anywhere and Smith refused to recruit over Porter last off season. It could be worse. We are 14-6 in basketball and were 7-6 in football. In addition we have a potential 1st round QB and a potential NBA draft pick. Just saying it could be worse... Actually, tonight couldn’t possibly be worse. Worst meltdown I’ve ever witnessed and that’s really saying something as...

Guys, guys, guys. I don’t want to hear about our players sucking. This one is squarely in Smith. The substitutions, the foul management, and playing not to lose with 5+ minutes left are coach’s decisions. We stood around until there were less than 10 seconds in the block to start our offense. I thought the first 36 minutes we played the best basketball of the year. We were playing great and then completely crumbled. Just needed one more free throw or someone to make a play and we didn't get it done. The one bright spot is that we played good 36 minutes and know our potential. Honestly c...

Re: I believe that we got iced by the fouls and review time

You are up by 2 with 4 seconds to go and you have the ball to in bounds. Lets be honest you should not lose that game. There was no need to rush that pass. YOu have a timeout at the very least send throw the ball past half court so even if they steal they have no time to make anything happen. Every...

Collins and Maile on offense made no sense last year. Neither one of them had been on that side of the ball before and probably did our offense no favors. Just a bad experiment. Both of them are defensive guys and should be on the defensive side of the ball. Glad to see them back where they belong....

Yeah, they are this year. By the way, word from a Clemson insider I trust is that our RB is coming back for his Sr year along with a 5-star RB who just enrolled. And our defensive line will be way improved. My prediction for the CFP for next year is Clemson, Bama, OSU, and Oregon. I know we've been...

With the boost in tv revenue, do we potentially decrease our money games in favor of home-home with low-tier P5 or AAC teams? Not saying we get rid of them completely, but maybe not every year. Wondered this too. At minimum we should quit being sacrificial lambs to blue bloods. I’m been screaming t...

Sam would start pretty much for any team in the country let Alone the conference. I wasn't slighting Sam at all. He is a heck of a player but both SDSU guards went wherever they wanted, whenever they wanted with the ball. That is a special ability. Pretty sure the MW player of the year.....the MVP ...
