Re: Non-conference schedule

How many non conference games are you allowed to play? The full season before the conference tournament consists of 29 games. But a multi-team event like the Jamaica Classic counts as only two games. So, with the four Jamaica Classic games, the Aggie can schedule 31 games. The conference schedule i...

Re: USU -3.0

I'm surprised by that. Hope we can live up to that. I could see this game going two ways. I think if we get rolling early, it could be a 2-3 score win for us, but their defense scares me. If its a slugfest, I don't like our chances as much. Hopefully the growth of Love means that he will play much b...

Re: Gary's coaching staff

This staff is extremely high quality and is way superior to the staff he was able to bring the first time. Nothing to see here. Move along. I agree with this. I think this staff is excellent. I don't think we should criticize the DB's coaches when we have had several injuries there. They are young....

For sure. If we had as much patience with our wives as we do with coordinators, we'd all be divorced.

Re: So deflating! But that was a helluva effort!

I was afraid that our defense would really deflate in the second have, because they are a very physical O'line, and they were on the field a really long time. They didn't. We were stronger the second half than the first.

Re: Playing Not To Lose and bad O Coordinator

D has to play gaps against that crazy zone read they do. You can't pull out all the stops. I thought our D played well enough to win. Turnovers hurt, and Woodwards TD getting called back hurt. That would have been a game changer.

Re: Love’s Throwing Motion

The awesome touchdown by Woodward that was called back and the INT in the end zone were daggers. If we had those two TD's that game is totally changed. I was hoping we would throw for the first down on the second to last drive. I had no faith we could get 4 since they had 8 in the box.

I disagree that Woodward won't have as good a year. Linebackers have great numbers when they have great D-linemen. We have that. Plus, another year of experience will help big time. Look for Woodward to thrive!

Re: ESPN FPI has USU a lot lower than I would have expected

I think Mariner plays great at receiver, and the oline will be full speed in a few games. The thing that ESPN doesn't mention is that we have one of the best quarterbacks in the West. As Scotty said today, "The High Tide (Love) will raise all boats." I like our chances for 8+.

Because it's summer, and i am bored with current sports, I re-watched the USU-BYU Provo game tonight. So much fun. I had forgotten how we dominated the line. We had a huge rushing game and they did not. (I think their longest run was 4 yards against our starters) They would not have scored in the 1s...

That's fine, but you still have 5 DB's. Usually 3 safeties, but sometimes a nickel. In most 5 DB defenses, one of the db's will play a lot of run support. It will be fun to see how they are organized this year. I wish I were close enough to go to practices and scrimmages so I could see it. I'm not ...

I had been to others, but the 1982 game vs yBu. Paul Jones caught a pass over the middle, and outran everyone, (maybe 75 yds?) to put us up by 10. Steve Young threw a TD late, but not enough!
