Re: Akin, Shulga, Ashworth, and Funk
Thank you for the win Question for historical stats, what is the last time a player for the Aggies go 5 for 5 on 3s in a game? Akin had a Queta type of night. Ashworth and Funk came up clutch at the end. Shulga and Akin for most of the game were the only ones scoring and drawing fouls and keeping u...

Re: Grzesiak and the defense
MJ is getting better and better and made several great plays last night. AJ is solid but doesn’t have the speed to be really great and continues to not wrap up and finish tackles. I’ve said it a lot but I honestly think AJ’s is suited more like a DE ala Vaughn’s, Heninger etc.. Neves scares the cra...

Re: New sdsu stadium
It looks great. One of the things that makes the Mav such a great place to watch a game is how close you are to the field. This field is also built for soccer, so the stands are further back to make that accomodation. I also love the Mav that the stands are steep, which puts you higher, but not as f...

Probably true, but if he would have stayed vertical on foul 4, it would not have been called, and although I didn't agree with the call, he was obviously out of position on #5.sam tingey wrote: ↑January 8th, 2022, 9:13 pmHe got royally jobbed by the refs. I felt so bad for him.

Re: Did Christmas break make our guys forget what a 3 point shot is?
The best part is calling two timeouts to set up a 30 footer for Ashworth when we’re 1-17 from 3. That’s brilliant coaching. And then letting Miller shoot the ball with under 2 minutes left in the game was another favorite of mine. I would much rather have that long pass, and Bean take it to the hole.

Defense was great. We had lots of open shots. Sometimes players have got to produce. Having said that, there is one guy I wanted to get the ball on the last possession, and his name is Bean.

He needs to figure that out. A guy that can shoot as well as he does from 3 should not struggle that much from the line.

Re: Zapala
Odom wants to be able to move Horvath out of the 5 position, so its important that one of our two centers act like they know what to do. Zapala brings such tremendous energy to the floor when he’s out there, and he’s got somewhat of a clue about what to do offensively. Darius is a good defensive pr...

I think this is the winner no doubt! Without that play, we likely lose, which eliminates us from the division race. The biggest difference making play in my opinion.Aggiesbleedblue wrote: ↑November 27th, 2021, 8:09 amJustin Rice’s strip of Hunter Daniels against AFA decided the Mtn Division. Huge play.

I thought Zee had a great stretch in the first half. He got lost on D once, and gave up a 3, but grabbed two impressive rebounds, and really showed off his athleticism. I was hoping he would get time in the second half. You can really see the potential in that kid.

Re: Defense
Remember how bad we were against the run at the beginning of the year. We have totally flipped that lately. Our interior guys are playing great. We have 4 guys that kicked a very experienced SJSU line's butt, and of course our ends are legit. Our linebackers have become more physical, and the backen...

Re: Offensive Line
I'm still a bit confused why we don't have some designed roll-outs to help our o-line extend the pocket. Moving the pocket might help, but I kept thinking "throw the ball away". It seems like he had 3-4 seconds, but held onto it. They did a great job getting pressure on us. Their ends were good, an...

Re: The Red Zone Offense is Appalling
I agree that it was bad. Having said that, when you are outmanned up front, you are going to struggle. I think we have got to give this staff time to build up the physicality of our lines. Look at BYU, who has had time to develop their guys. I was hoping we would pass more in the second half too, es...

Our defense has problems, but it is such a relief to see them flying around. Remember last year when it just looked like we were stuck in molasses. The difference is amazing.

Re: Honest question about our Defense
The only thing that I noticed last night was some mistakes by our linebackers. If you watch Rice, he is a speed guy, but not good at all if a lineman can get his hands on him. Several times last night (including the long TD in the 4th) Rice could not get off a block from the lineman, and was wiped o...

Definitely a tough place to play. The cadets are always awesome. It seemed like the rest of the stadium was pretty empty. How may people do you think were there. With as much success as they have, you would think they would draw more.

Gifts that we humbly receive.
Two things that helped us. The power pistol look on the goal line was baffling, but thank you all the same. The second, in my opinion, was three straight pass plays on their last drive. We reacted to them very well, and deserve credit for doing so, but if I had Borghi on my team he would have touche...

As I think about it, isn't Simone going to cause herself a whole lot more stress because she let her team down? I hope she is ok, but it seems like she will regret this much more than any individual event.
