Nice to see them close out both halves strong and bounce back. Still lots of ball left this season. Hopefully that Boise debacle woke them up. Let’s ride!

Re: Staff Shakeup Ena out as DC

I'm not sure we can fairly evaluate next year's LBs from what we saw on the field this year. I have hopes for Simon Thompson if he's put on some good muscle after a year in the program, we'll have a couple of newcomers, and I wonder if Daniel Langi (was a great HS LB), or Justus Te'i will move from...

Good call. It’ll be interesting to see what the staff does with Logan Lee this year. He’s a good athlete that seems to have been underutilized up until now. With Repp gone he likely gets some more playing time. I could see him fit into this new TE/HB position though.

Re: Recruiting

Great interview with Gary on DJ/PK this morning. Lots of good stuff. On of the recruiting he said they are looking to fill the final spots with the following positions: RB - "We have to find a running back that can play next year" TE - "An off the ball Tight End, like an H mover" WR DL DB He really ...

Re: Depth Chart conjecture with shifting back to 3-4 base defense

I do think Derek Wright can play a bigger role in 2020 and Ajani will take a step forward in year 2. I remember someone saying that AJ Carter is switching to play corner next year, so I think that takes out another possible WR contributor. Or was that speculation and he will be playing WR? I think ...

Re: Depth Chart conjecture with shifting back to 3-4 base defense

Fun to look at. I feel good about the OL for 2020. Our good young guys will be another year bigger, stronger, and more experienced. I worry about receiver and hope we get another Mariner/Greene to transfer in. I do think Derek Wright can play a bigger role in 2020 and Ajani will take a step forward ...

It'll be interesting to see how he does. I never did really see him as a guy that would flourish in being the face of a program and out in front of everyone all the time. Seemed a bit reserved and more like a mad scientist defensive schemer, kind of like Yost but on the other side of the ball. Good ...

Scotty and Hans interviewed Reeder earlier this afternoon. Seems like he's been on quite the roller coaster the past couple weeks. If we start to look really good with Queta getting into form I think we could lose two close games to SDSU (league and tourney) and still get in. The committee will take the Queta factor into things if we don’t stumble again with the exception of close loses to SDSU.

Calhoun?!! That would be a complete 180 from the air raid! Actually all three of those would be. Why isn’t Harsin ever on these lists for P5 jobs? I could see them take a serious look at the Hawaii coach (Rolovich) though. Seems like a more similar offense and easier transition.

That one clip of Sean hitting the open 3 was just a possession or two after he passed up a wide open look from the corner in which Coach Smith was seen talking to him about it. Good sign that Sean didn’t hesitate the next time he got a look.

I actually think this is the perfect type of Team you should be scheduling as one of your non-conference games. We already schedule BYU every year and then a money game. I think it is super important to have another game against a division 1 opponent that is a very winnable game for us. I don’t dis...

On the “Aggies” theme, don’t rule out UC Davis offensive coordinator, Tim Plough. 2022/23 games scheduled. UCONN, Weber, Idaho State

Unless the UConn football series comes with a home-home basketball game as well, I’m not that excited. If we are trying to just schedule a win against another G5 school, I’d just as soon schedule one that is closer. Maybe a directional Michigan school, Tulsa, UTEP,.... When your QB is constantly faking hand offs to an invisible running back, it’s a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If we would have just handed it off to that invisible running back occasionally I think we would have done better in the red zone. I hear that trick play is difficult to stop.

Tbh I think Paul Peterson could be a good fit. Eastern Washington had the number 1 offense in FCS this year (ypg of 525). Not sure what their OC is like but could be worth a look. My choice for the next OC is already on staff. He was in the booth all season and saw first hand how bad Sanford was. Who is this person you speak of? I’m guessing Jason Phillips. It’ll be interesting if Kuba is inserted ahead of Dorius once he comes back. Bryce Mortenson at TE. Repp was a real weapon this year and even though we will have a boatload of senior TE’s next season (Terrell, Lee, Manu, Boman) I don’t think any of them are near the receiving threat (size/speed/hands) as Repp was. Mortenson was such an all around athlete in high school. Firs...

Texas Tech starting QB Jett Duffey has entered the transfer portal. Not that I think it would happen, but it’d be funny if last week’s rumor was Love heading to TT and in the end their QB comes to USU.
