Re: New QB transfer?

I’m thinking the Coaches (Bodie, Gary, ....) have a good idea of what style of offense they want to run. It appears that they are fond of true dual threat QB’s such as Shelley, Peasley, Legas,..... I’m not sure if Calvin is a dual threat or not. Maybe they feel it is better to have qb’s with similar...

Re: New QB transfer?

We’ve never had a qb transfer in that had nearly a year of P5 starting experience and a winning record to go with it. Shelley also played a major role in some high pressure games (ccg, rivalry, and division clincher). He can be an electric playmaker and really extend plays. That being said, he also ...

Re: 2020 Utah State Football Preseason Preview: Wide Receiver

Does McGriff have speed or is more of a possession type guy a la Tarver? We need a newcomer to pan out or Colombi won't have open guys to throw to. If I recall part of the reason he left Nebraska after his RS year was because they wanted to switch him to TE. This leads me to believe he may not have...

Re: 2020 Utah State Football Preseason Preview: Wide Receiver

I have a wait and see approach on McGriff. I love the potential but it usually takes JC guys a while to adjust. I hope he gets up to speed quickly because we really need that big presence on the outside, especially in the red zone. Nathan and Thompkins are known quantities and will no doubt be big p...

Most conferences are 12 or more teams these days so it wouldn’t be hard to have an 11 game conference schedule.

Re: 2020 Utah State Football Preseason Preview: Quarterback

I’m really excited for the Columbi era and think he could have a breakout year. He may not have Love’s pure arm talent but his accuracy, speed, and command of the offense will be fun to watch. I think mixing in a bit of Peasley for “wild bull” type situations would be beneficial too, especially if h...

Pre-Season All-MWC Teams

We are not expected to be good this year, so not altogether surprising. But New Mexico is? I mean we had the lowest number of selections of all the teams. UNLV, SJSU, Hawaii, and Nevada? All these teams had as many or more selections as us. SDSU, BSU, Wyoming, and Air Force got a lot of selections ...

Reminds me a bit of MTSU’s fade although theirs is opposite fade. Their decal works out because it ends up being on the chrome part. Not sure how a decal would look on our new one since it seems to fade midway through the decal zone. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200704/058a36f0fd8afe551e3b28ac...

Schramm was pulled up from the FCS ranks. Dave Schramm was pulled from the FCS ranks, but if you remember, he was the offensive coordinator at Utah under Whitt a few years back, so he's not exactly "chopped liver!" If I remember correctly, he's also been at Fresno State. Schramm was the OC/QB coach...

Re: Agree or Disagree? Column says that Colorado State is our 'Most Important Game' in 2020

I think 7 is the floor. I believe people are underestimating how much experience we have returning compared to last year. Like others, I expect the defense to be improved simply due to scheme but also because of personnel and depth. I also think we'll see an improved offense too though. Love was gr...

Utah State basketball to change program name

Gonzaga developed the blue print for turning a smallish regional western US university into a national powerhouse. Before they became a top 10 program they were 3rd fiddle (maybe even 4th) in Washington...much akin to us. Here is a breakdown of their roster from last year: Serbia Lithuania Russia Ma...

Ok so I took the challenge and did virtual tours of the Mountain West football facilities. Boise’s are nice but I think there are a few others equal or better, such as CSU and maybe Wyoming. USU, Fresno, Air Force and UNLV aren’t far behind. Some of these warmer climate teams don’t have an indoor fi...

What was the name of the poly kid who was real versatile and used at H-back/TE during Gary’s last go round here. I think he may have played some DE or LB as well. He wasn’t super tall, maybe around Allen’s height. Anyway, I liked how we used him and could see Jaden do well in that role.

4, 5, and 8. I’m a bit partial to #5 as that was a one year only helmet worn by the Aggies during my freshman year .... and is my avatar. I’ve also enjoyed the resurgence of #4 logo on some recent apparel items. I liked the black helmet too.

6.4 assists leads one to believe he isn’t afraid to share the rock. 12 ppg in the Big10 is a nice scoring contribution as well, however, sounds like his mother has breast cancer and he is transferring due to family circumstances, so he may be wanting to get closer to home.

Packers fans will be glad they have a difference maker sitting behind Rogers if he gets injured rather than the two clowns backing him up now. Good organization that builds team for long term success.
