USU Transfer Portal Tracker

Not sure if I saw it posted but Cal transfer forward Grant Newell was on campus yesterday for a visit. On his way to SLU for a visit now.

Even if Great comes back, we will need another big or two to replace Sakho and D. Grant.

Re: Hillstead Transferring

After Petras goes from "worst D1 qb" (due to a broken Iowa offense) to an NFL draft prospect this season, there will be plenty of good transfer qb's knocking at the door to get into Blake's system next season.

Re: Eric Daniels

I'd take Steven Verplancken if Daniels could convince him to transfer. We really need some sharp shooters from beyond the arch and Verplancken is a Xavier DuSell 2.0 type of player. Their numbers are nearly identical over their 4 year careers (40% 3pt with 5-6 attempts per game). He may not start at...

Re: Current State of USU Basketball

Uduje had worked his way into a very valuable role as 6th man. A good 6th man is equally as important as a starter. I really like Josh and what he brings to the team in a lot of different facets. I hope Ian stays and Josh can accept being another conference 6th man of the year type player. Maybe ave...

Our new PG

Albury is a dynamic playmaker. I only hope he is equally good in the locker room and team chemistry wise. I’m not saying he won’t, but in order to recreate last year’s magic he also needs to fit in with the team. Crossing my fingers.

Well that would be a bummer. He’s probably inline to be the starter in 2025 after Legas and Petras graduate.

Those are good. I also don’t mind Bighorns. There aren’t many bighorn sheep around SLC but there are plenty in parts of the state. Especially the desert bighorns further south.

Can he shoot from outside? Based on highlights he appears to be Roddy Jr He does remind me a bit of Roddy Jr but does average 36.4% from deep, which isn’t bad, but only attempted 1.7 per game. His 17/6/4 stat line was only playing 28 mpg. His shooting percentages are 48/36/75. Biggest concern is th...

Now that it’s looking more like another rebuild, I wonder if Coach Cal will use any of his Horizon league connections to pull in any of these portal players. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4594111/dj-burns https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/stats/_/id/47027...
