Re: Students for BYUProvo

The plan has been to have tickets available to the general public as well as students. I think things remain touch and go relative to COVID restrictions. We should hear something definitive in the next couple of days. It is helpful to the cause if we get a good turnout for the Air Force game, since...

Re: This HC search is tighter than a puppy’s butt hole

Okay, I am going to call my shot here. Somebody brought up Kenny Dillingham from Florida State a while ago. He is probably the youngest possible coach, so he would fit the bill of 'Young.' and has been the Offensive Coordinator at Auburn and Florida State so that could be 'Sexy'. Also with the talk...

Pretty tight lipped. I've heard some of the young and sexy that have interviewed, but I've also heard something else that will surprise a lot of people on here. Nothing is done until it's done, we'll know soon enough. Are we talking a good surprise or a flaming poop bag on the porch type of surprise?

FWIW, in FT% USU is 95. BYU is 222. Out of 239.
With our luck it translates that they will hit 90% of their free throws against us and will attempt at least 25.

Re: Next Game - What do we know?

A data point to watch in BYU’s games is the number of 3-pointers they’re attempting. They are averaging more than 28 attempts in 3 blowout wins. Granted 39 were in the Westminster game but they are heaving up a lot of threes. And that is a better formula at home than on the road. And their FT numbe...

Re: Next Game - What do we know?

.... They are not a tall team. They do have a center that’s 6’11” but doesn’t play much. Then it’s sole 6’9” forwards that will be the most threat in the post. We should have the advantage there but we saw how well that played into our favor against SDSU. We made some good strides the last game but...

Re: Next Game - What do we know?

We have to play strong ball defense on the 3. You cannot give up open looks and allow them to go on spurts of hitting 3-4, three point shots. I suspect we will want Anthony to guard Barcello. Queta will need to have a very big game, stay out of foul trouble and score 15-20. We will need to hit a goo...

And do we honestly think that the coaches and AD didn't have viable reasons? Why do we jump to the conclusion that this was ONLY from the one game and ONLY from what is shown on the field? They shouldn't disclose reasons to the general public, that can end up hurting the player even more. This. Tha...

Re: Gotta Give It To The O-Line

I have maintained the OL has been an area of strength for us. As Peasley showed last night, with a competent QB this offense can be well balanced and score points. The good news is we will return most of the two deep at OL next season provided none transfer. The OL played good yesterday and deserve...

I agree I have really liked it when he has ran the ball. I think it would like to see him get some more touches. But I also think Noa and Gentry are going to be really good once they get some more time underneath them.

Re: Miller: credit where credit is due

Miller has done a fantastic job being a role player this year. Other than three or four threes that were probably a little bit quick and ill-advised he is taking very very good threes. He's also driven to the paint and shot some mid-range shots which is really good. I think the big key for him this ...

Re: Marco was very undisappointing today

Great game by Anthony he played really well. His shot is not that pretty but as long as it goes in that's all that matters. If he can shoot greater than 35% from 3 he will be really really effective. His defense in the second half on green was really good. He's got to do better at free throw shootin...

The second-half defense especially perimeter defense was really good tonight. But it really frustrates me when our guards are out on the three-point line and they sag back towards the paint just stay on your guy and don't let them beat you with the three.

Our starting 5 is pretty much set. Overall I think it is a solid group, especially if Anthony and Miller can shoot >35% from 3. Anderson and Bairstow have been really bad. I think they will come along, but for whatever reason they are struggling. I think Shulga can be a solid contributor as well as ...

I wondered the same thing. I understand the foul trouble thing but Queta just needs to learn to play it right. He doesn't always have to leave his feet to swat the shot. If he's in tight with them he can just stand up straight and make the shot difficult enough. Teams like UNI are way more likely t...

Re: 2 questions

Doubling the post drives me insane. We should never play weak side help on Queta the way we guard the perimeter and as good a defender as he is. If the guy in the post beats Queta, you tip the cap. You don’t give up the open three by giving weakside help. I agree, the only time we should do it is t...

Great job Aggies, I am pumped over this win. Great job to Anthony, Worster and Bean. That was a great win. Defense was really good the 2nd half. Why do we play weak side help on Queta's defensive assignment? HE is an all conference defender, we should let him play man and take our chances of a tough contested shot. It seems like every time we do it they either get a uncontested lay up or an in rhythm 3 point shot. Why is their 1 person who a...

I'm not taking any win with a grain of salt this year. UNM was a TD favorite in this game. They have been a better team than us previously this year.
