Re: Current State of USU Basketball
Am I the only one that thinks Ian is probably worth the $200k in NIL money he’s asking for? Like that ask doesn’t seem crazy to me for a player of his caliber in a universe where Dallin Hall wants $600k and Steven Ashworth is getting $400k. Ian is a better player than either of those two. It does s...

Re: I sure hope we are making players wait until
Didn’t we read somewhere that NIL could not be contingent on playing for a certain school? Doesn’t make sense, but I thought that’s what we talked about. That’s the idea but who’s going to enforce it. Put it in nil contracts that I they leave they have to pay it back. you can't enforce them playing...

Re: Attention slb
I'd take him back. He'd give us a much-needed 3-point shooter. Looking at transfer portal highlights Shulga has improved and could be really good in this next season. I'm not sure how you could say he improved when you thought he basically walked on water while he was here. Or was he not that great...

Re: Davon Booth to Transfer
People are coming with NIL excuses for BA. This is a BA problem. We have not been a winning team since 2021. At this point, we are trying to time BA and his buyout on when to hire the next coach. When losing, recruits are more willing to leave. Everybody ragged on Matt Wells for having very similar...

Just makes appreciate even more players like Kotsanlee, Jacob Garcia, Otto Tia and lot of others that have been with the team for several years and are proud to don the Aggie uniform and stay true to USU.

Re: Davon Booth to Transfer
It’s becoming difficult to be a fan of Aggie Football. Hard to be committed when the team isn’t. Especially when 4 months ago some of these guys said they were going to run it back and they were committed and then now change their minds. Obviously they can choose what they want but its hard to root...

Re: Davon Booth to Transfer
Blake is not in charge of NIL. That is the blue A collective. If we want players to stay then people need to pony up more funds. Even then we will never pay our good players what a lot of other collectives will pay them.

https://x.com/tobias_bass/status/1780996008349999223?s=46&t=NuJ1Icya-XRphdyldXm_lw It appears Jakobe Cole’s did not want to join the team that beat the (I can't express myself without swearing) out of them in the tournament. Based on his numbers i think it would be a little bit of Sakho and Great's replacement . Seems like he is skilled around the basket as well as a good rim protector.

Blake "coached Coop hard" and sitting in the stands right behind the team all last season, it was obvious that he got ripped into much more often than any other QBs. Granted, this is only observation from the stands and I never heard what Blake was screaming at Coop about, but I was more shocked th...

I want to see long standing rivalries continue. We have a long history of playing against Weber State, Utah, and BYU. We don’t have a long history against UVU and Utah Tech… and I’m unsure we have much history against UVSC or Dixie State either. I think the Utah Tech game is a buy game because we n...

Re: Question about transfer portal
I’m no help but it’s interesting they can enforce a transfer window but they can’t enforce how many times a player can transfer. Just wait some player will not like his situation because of this current rule and will file a lawsuit against the NCAA and they will cave. I would not be surprised in th...

The message for some is: Anderson is doing a scrappy job I want him gone. In next breath, how dare he bring in players that will make our team better. What coach does this? You have a senior starting quarterback with great stats and has also been loyal to your program and you bring in a quarterback to replace him. I wonder how the this will affect the chemistry of the team now that one of their favorite teammates is leaving? Thanks BA! :bangwall:...

BA had to protect himself in case Coop or Hillstead’s injuries from last year lingered, or if either one were to chase NIL money and enter the portal. So he was smart and did his homework and found a guy with experience, had the tools for his offense, and who was ok not be guaranteed the starting s...

Coaching, in the era of unlimited transfers and NIL conflicts is simply not a business I would choose to go into. These guys all have to be ready to pull their hair out. As a fan of a G5 program, what am I supposed to get excited about? Every G5 kid that shows any promise as an under-classman an is...

We wonder why coaches aren't loyal. Guy won us our first MWC Title and after two bowl eligible seasons we want him out the door. How long does he get to skate by on the MWC title? I'm not saying fire him, but I'd love to know if these players are solely leaving for more money (not much you can do a...

Ultimately the Aggies are not going to get very many high profile games in Logan. We will occasionally get some but a lot teams will not want to go to Logan. I don't want to see any NAIA or D2 schools scheduled unless just an exhibition.

It is interesting that Paul would transfer when he played first string most of last year and from spring reports it sounds like he was first string as well. It certainly does not sound like it was going to be playing time thing he would want to transfer for. Maybe he is wanting more NIL, who knows.

Are they doing recent grad discounts in the south end zone and east side? I can see them not offering on the west side as those are all big blue donation seats but could for sure see them offering in the south and east sides.

Be interesting to see how his experience translates to college with NIL and high school recruiting. IN the NBA the GM and head coach do that. He is a good X's and O's coach but has very limited experience in recruiting.
