Scotty G is the man. He does a fantastic job as the play-by-play voice of the Aggies.

And I also loved Al.

Totally agree w/ your take, @sammyhagar. I jumped right on the Porter train after he drained that 3 and immediately stared down the dude who had been harassing him until that moment...then continued to yell in his direction all the way back down the floor. Kid has some fire.

I was at the game last night and thought the Hurd was INCREDIBLE. Kudos to everyone who showed up and energized the place. Best atmosphere I've experienced at a basketball game in years, including many Jazz games. Saturday could be even better.

Re: First Trip to Laramie!

Laramie's not so bad. I went to the game there in 2016 and was very impressed with Josh Allen...that guy destroyed us. The stadium is actually pretty cool, with the tall pines all around. There's a decent Thai restaurant in town, and once you get off I-80, the downtown and campus areas are fairly ni...

So...what will their justifications be this year?

I’m thinking something like the following: * If Mangum hadn’t thrown the early pick-6, this is a whole different game. * Squally Canada was hurt. * We were beat up from playing all those P5 schools. * You guys were coming off a bye week. * 1984! * Had we played Wilson all game, we would have won. Pl...

Re: About the BYU/USU game: a few things that make me happy

The TL;DR version: BYU-Provo thinks it is much more significant than it actually is, and there are many things that get under its fans' skin. Also, their national brand is diminishing.

About the BYU/USU game: a few things that make me happy

I think we probably get beat today, although I'm hoping for a miracle. Regardless, here are a few things that make me happy: 1) "BYU-Provo". Try using that phrase more often. It really irritates them. 2) BYU-Provo to the Big 12! That was hilarious. Poor Cougars and their inflated self perception. It...

Re: Ref blew the game

Yes, blaming the refs is petty, and bad calls happen all the time. But a call THAT bad, in THAT situation...I rarely see it. Occasionally I see a bad no-call at the end of the game where the ref swallows his whistle, because generally refs will let the players play in those situations. And I agree -...

Sorry to be so blunt, but was this unexpected? Was he sick when he retired?

I had a couple friends on the CC team who spoke highly of him. Seems sad that he worked his whole life, finally retired, and then promptly passed away. Condolences to his family.

Does anyone here feel bad about what our students did in "The Brandon Davies Game" from a few years ago? Because I certainly don't. I hate to pick on players, but what in the world happened to Hobbs on that fumble? And not just that, but why didn't he jump on it immediately? Seemed like he was hoping it would bounce to him or something. Just awful. And Rodriguez...nice catch on the TD, but that fumble? He ran right into four def...

A few questions after the Wyoming game

1) What is Sharp's status? I saw him on at least one play, so what happened? Did he reinjure something? 2) Did WYO's coach seem pissed during the post-game handshake? Looked like Wells was trying to say something, but the coach ran off. Can't blame him, I guess...I mean, we didn't hold back on that ...

A couple other suggestions:

1) If you're going through Denver, go check out Union Station (downtown, near Coors Field). It's a newly renovated bus/train depot with some cool restaurants and interesting architecture.

2) Also in Denver, a great breakfast spot is Snooze. Trust me.

Hawaii was huge...definitely one of the biggest in my lifetime as an Aggie fan. Last night was also big, but hard to say, yet, what it will ultimately mean to the season and the program. Let me submit one other win that sticks out as potentially the biggest, at least on a personal level: USU 31, BYU...

Started in the Fall of 1996; really caught the fever post-mission in the 1999 season. Suffered through a lot of ugly years before GA/Chuckie/Turbin/Kerwynn/Wagner/Vigil brought us to the promised land. I can still distinctly remember feeling the relief each year when we got our first win, because "a...

Who are we cheering for? Honestly can't decide. Should probably cheer for our conference, but I get really tired of hearing how BSU is the only quality team in the conference, etc. Maybe that doesn't make any sense...I guess misery just loves company.
