The elephant in the room: solvency of collegiate sports

The real possibility of anywhere on the spectrum no football, football without fans, football with limited fan seating at stadiums, etc. can only last for so long. There are many, many schools where men's basketball and football are the only things keeping their programs above water. Many schools do...

Re: Fall Sports - No Bueno

Sorry to be the wet blanket, but some of the recent reports about spiking numbers have me depressed about the likelihood of football this fall. https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/12/health/us-coronavirus-friday/index.html Some states are getting close to the number of new daily cases they had in the height...

Not intended as an insult, but in Colombi’s recent tweets, he looks like a grown-*** man

Maybe it was just the pads or maybe I am right, but the last two years when I have seen Colombi on the sidelines or with playing time, he still kindof looked like he was in that post-high school transitionary stage. In the recent tweets of him throwing the football with some other college players, h...

Way to save at least one sports season

Since there seems to have been more than a 2 handfuls of NBA players who have COVID-19, they should actually have those players play against each other once they have recovered. Just think about it, it would basically be televised pick-up games with dunk contests, games of horse, 3PT contest, etc. T...

Twitch can save the tourney: how about they still seed teams and let them play it out online

Twitch will stream all games. Coaches will sub in players and they will play 5v5. It isn't the real thing and definitely benefits those who spend more time playing video games, but would be a way to have some semblance of a tournament and fun for players and fans.

Unsung heroes of SDSU game: Bean and Anderson defense on Mitchell

They held him to 25% of his season average on points, and his lowest scoring output of the year. There were a couple of absolute gems by Anderson covering him 1-on-1 in isolation.

NAR: Can anyone explain how a rational algorithm has Texas Tech at 22?

It feels like Q1 losses never move a team down, but Q1-Q3 wins will move a team up. It appears that this algorithm has all the problems of traditional ranking systems where it is impossible for the system to correct for a priori biases that came from the point at which the system was initialized. Th...

I am however hoping Utah St gets one of the final at-large bids for the NCAAs. Hopefully their name drops a week from tom...

Any websites that re-calculate NET base on an alternate outcome?

It seems we went up 1 over the weekend. I assume that because BYU won and SDSU lost that those two kindof cancelled each other out? Is there any way of knowing if we would have had a bigger bump if SDSU and BYU had won?
