Re: Brock Retired

They said in tonight's broadcast that Odom said they hope he'll be back in February. How sure is the OP that Miller is done?

He tried that tonight. Unfortunately it banked and clanked off the rim still.

Re: Odom = Duryea

Treesap can vouch for this, but when I was still capable of physical movement, people hated to play me in basketball because they thought I was a cocky (I can't express myself without swearing). I would call my shots before they went in, and it pissed people off. What wasn't grasped was the fact th...

Re: Odom = Duryea

Let us not forget that Mr Duryea had an NBA guy in Merrill and a high level college guy in McEwen. Odom has no such players and this team is far more competitive with a far more difficult schedule. This thread is the most idiotic thing I’ve seen on this board. Two NBA guys. Merrill and Moore. Oh an...

Re: Odom = Duryea

Also is it not true that we have played really good teams? We have played the best in the MW and have been in it with 2:00 left in every game. With the roster we have I would consider that a success. Air Force isn't a really good team. And the next team we play is undefeated in conference. Going 1-...

Re: Odom = Duryea

It's all mental. This is probably the best the MWC has ever been and we've been right there, only to flail about in the last minute trying to make up for missed FTs throughout the game. Horvath and Dorius went 0-4 in the final eight minutes of the second half from the FT line. Meanwhile, Fresno St....

Re: Odom = Duryea

Mentally weak. Can't make FTs, we panic and turn the ball over. Miss open looks. Miss layups. Gotta put some of the blame on the coaches when your team is mentally weak. Horvath went from shooting over 80% from the FT line to clanking them off the glass. He's missed his last 7 free throws. So what ...

So USU has lost games to the top two teams in the conferences by a combined 5 points (or something) and had a shot at the end of each game to win it. Given where we were at going into the season, I can live with that.
And crapped the bed against Air Force.

It's important to remember that the NET is a RANKING not a Rating. If other teams pass you, your actual net calculated rating (which isn't published) could stay the same but your net RANKING goes down (drop from 23rd best to 24th best team for example). It's different than the RPI which was a specif...

Re: 3 calls that HURT

The refs were very reactionary instead of actually calling what they SAW on the court. A few plays come to mind: The errant pass directly out of bounds was so bad that I even assumed the Aggies must have deflected it. The ref obviously thought the same and even though he didn't see an Aggie touch it...

Potter looked like a good player to me but had stuff on his shoulder and just came off his mission. Potter should be our 4 and 5 positions next season since he has the size to play both.

Seemed like he was still badly injured tonight and I don't think he could've shot the ball if he wanted to. At least not accurately with his ribs in that situation. Jones has been a good distributor for us this year but he wasn't healthy enough to help the team tonight.

to see production from the 3 spot with Bairstow starting. The last few games with Miller starting we've got nothing out of that position. i hope so, we will find out tomorrow night. New Mexico will be a very tough game, they are always tough to beat in the pit. 3 point % is the key. If we hit our 3 point average % we will win. How is buyout money handled by the Athletic Dept? Is it just put into a general use fund and used as needed?
