Todd Simon was an assistant to Dave Rice at UNLV so that dynamic won't happen.

Has anyone brought up Dave Rice? He spent a year with Stew in Logan and then 6 down at the Y so he knows the culture. Also had some good years at UNLV as their head coach before some boosters decided to get him fired.

I remember first attending games as a child in the Field House and loved that arena sitting on the balcony above the east basket with my dad but was sold on the “Assembly Center” in the first game when Utah State knocked off Ohio State in December of 1970. The Assembly Center was later changed to th...

Re: Financial gains to USU from NCAA Tournament
From the NCAA: How is the March Madness money divided? Of the 68 teams that play in the tournament from the start, the respective conferences will have a “Basketball Performance Fund”, which was around $170 million last year. For each game played, each team’s conference will get a payout based on it...

Financial gains to USU from NCAA Tournament
The good news for Utah State is that the Mountain West Conference distributes NCAA money equally between conference members. Units are worth approximately $340,000. Having 4 teams in is worth 4 units. Each of the SDSD wins are worth another unit (5 units) making a total of nine units through Saturda...

Re: Why not Utah State and the Big 12?
The Mountain West won't exist in it's current form 5 years from now. The landscape is changing too quickly and those at Utah State's level will be left on the outside looking in. If Utah State doesn't prepare themselves and make a jump to the next level we will need to be satisfied with dropping to ...

Why not Utah State and the Big 12?
With the recent stadium enhancements and football success I would hope that Utah State is at least contacting the Big 12. I realize that it would be a real long shot with not much of a chance but why would you not at least contact them? Just the thought of Utah State getting in the Big 12 and leavin...

I'll throw Scott Nagy on the list. South Dakota State head coach. Has taken South Dakota State to the NCAA tournament 2 out of the last 3 years an...

Hiring a basketball coach is a completely different animal from hiring a basketball coach. Where hiring an assistant to keep a system in place may work for football it isn't as important when it comes to a basketball coach. Hiring a basketball coach at Utah State who doesn't have conference champion...

Just thinking that Utah State probably would not have been invited to the MWC if Boise and SD state hadn't taken their little Big East sabbatical. So glad it worked out the way it did for the Aggies this time. It is about time Karma paid its debt. Onward and upward! Go Aggies!

It begs the question if the Aggies would be better off playing in the FCS. It would mean closer rivals and a chance to play for a championship.

My question is how does Wyoming get Nebraska to come play in Laramie? They had Texas in Laramie a few years ago as well. Our last big home game outside of a Mountain West team was Oregon about 10 years go.
