Re: Explain the Reasoning

It makes sense for the P5 conferences to maintain flexibility and they are able to absorb the financial hit but for the G5 schools it is a huge hit and for independent schools like BYU it is a serious blow.

Re: I am starting to doubt it happens.....

I’m starting to really think the season isn’t going to happen. Basketball might start off without fans, the. Transition if/when vaccines and treatments come. But I don’t think football is realistic or smart at this point. People who are obese and have diabetes are at risk. How many D-1 lineman fall...

Re: Air Travel changes affecting sports

Good, maybe this will force a return of local rivalries and start to generate interest again in college basketball . I remember a day when each year USU would play both home and away against Weber, Utah and BYU. Those were fun games. The games were all broadcast on local salt lake tv networks. I’d l...

Re: If Both Gach withdraws from the NBA draft he wants to play for Utah State

If Abel Porter can play at Ohio State, this guy can play at Utah State. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I want Gach at USU, but to be fair (and I know I'll get criticism for this) but I don't think Porter can play at Ohio State. I'd be surprised if he plays meaningful minutes for them next year....

Re: Non-conference opponents in the 2020s so far

I won't be surprised to see another 2-for-1 pop up during 2024-2026. I 2nd this. Possible P5 opponents for this USC and ND USC would make the most sense since it would complete their schedule, and we have played USC in the past. I had the same thought about a 2-for-1 being worked on for this 3 year...

Re: Jordan Love to Green Bay Packers with 26th pick

Of course Packer fans hate the pick. They are in win now mode and this pick is a rebuild pick . I don’t think it is anything against Love personally, they just thought they could get some help for Rogers to make another run instead of trading up for his replacement. I think I would be a bit upset if...

From Jeff Borzello's twitter account: Matt Haarms, the nation's top available transfer, has committed to BYU over Kentucky and Texas Tech. "I just felt an absolutely awesome connection with them," Haarms told ESPN. Immediately eligible. Averaged 8.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks last season a...

Good for him, but this is scary. If Abel can go to OSU with a schollie, that means that any of our players can go compost anywhere. If they take away the transfer penalty we won’t be able to hold on to any player that has some success. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Playing time matters to most...

What kind of impact, if any, does this have on the coming year of football recruits? Do we know of any guys we will have available for this season that were expected to still be out on a mission? That’s an interesting question. I imagine that most coming home will be early enough out on their missi...

One good sign. There have been no new cases in China (at least that is what they are reporting). So experts are saying the virus has run its course there, similar to a flu virus that tends to be less virulent over the course of time and when warmer weather settles in. Still a concern as China insti...

It would be tough to do it later. I’m sure they explored that option hard.

Besides scheduling, many seniors have jobs lined up to start their careers and getting teams enough time to practice and prepared after two months would be a tall order.

honest question: did we like Maile as DC before? I have a vague recollection that we did NOT. I LOVED FM's demeanor and attitude leading up to and after Wells' departure, and I'm real...

Bouknight would be high on my list.
+1 That dude can recruit (was big with our Florida pipeline) and has learned from some great offensive minds.
Bouknight and Chuckie together could be an amazing recruiting team.
My guess is Chuckie would steer clear of Andersen as well.

Tbh I think Paul Peterson could be a good fit. Eastern Washington had the number 1 offense in FCS this year (ypg of 525). Not sure what their OC is like but could be worth a look. I doubt Gary would bring back McGiven just because he wouldn’t hear the end of it but I’m also curious why everyone is ...
