Re: Reasons USU Wins Saturday (none of them reality-based)

1. I was scheduled to go to the game, but plans got cancelled, so I can no longer make it. This is the main reason. 2. USU is "due" for a big-time win. 3. Jordan Love is "due" for a big-time game. 4. Any others? Now back to reality. My prediction is USU loses by 20+. If this year's LSU were the typ...

Re: LSU is overrated

There simply have not been enough games played yet to get "good" statistical analysis on the relative rankings of college football teams. That said LSU still looks very good. One of the ratings systems I like is the Wilson Performance Rating system. It uses iterative computer recursion, to assign r...

So you are saying we might have a chance?
LSU's football team might get hit with a mini epidemic of Norovirus the day before the game.

Yes. We have a chance.

Re: LSU is overrated

This year's LSU team is without question one of the top 10 teams USU has EVER faced, and probably in the top 5. I will be happy if we aren't humiliated, and come away without any season/career ending injuries. I think it's probably the best team USU has ever faced. At least in my lifetime. Tell me ...

Do you guy really watch their games? Yes, weekly. My second favorite team plays them. Same here, I cheer for the AGGIES!!! (And whoever plays BYU - but I don't watch their games.) The two hardest games of the year for me are BYU v Utah, and BYU v Boise. I pray for the ground to open beneath their f...

Re: Hawaii's jerk move vs Nevada

Do we forget the dirty trick Nevada and Fresno pulled when they moved from the WAC to the MWC? They deserve plenty of return dirty tricks. Eh, be careful about that kind of precedent. Would you want the rest of the conference to justify treating us poorly, forever, because of "The Project"? I've ac...

No way, it's awesome. Tulane beat Houston is a huge win for their program this year running the same play. I would LOVE for USU to actually try something like this for once sometime. https://twitter.com/FootballScoop/status/1174885721934585856 Difference is that the teams were tied up. Not only was...

Oddsharks finally sobered up and it now says we lose 43 to 35.
Considering who we're playing, if we get this outcome, and no injuries, I'll take it.

What's the story with punting?

Dalton clearly isn't injured. He's holding for place kicks, unless I'm mistaken. Callister, a true freshman, appears to have taken over punting duties. Did Callister just beat out Dalton, or did Andersen pull Dalton from punting duties because of his back? After the surgery that he had, personally I...

I'm really trying to not get caught up in BYU-centric stuff. My only disappointment at this time is that I don't think we're going to be in a position to hand BYU their 7th loss and take them out of bowl eligibility. I think that privilege will fall to SDSU.

Couple of thoughts. 1. Sometimes coaching skills aren't entirely fungible. Some coaches can go anywhere and be successful. Some seem to need a particular context for everything to come together. Gary may be one of those cases. He had a great run at USU, very good at Wisconsin, and a disaster at OSU...

The fact they can recruit more in numbers does not equal the disadvantages they have to overcome.

Did we finally drop Army ROTC? If so, what happened? We can't. A requirement of the Morrill Land Grant Act is that Land Grant Colleges must have ROTC programs. They must also have engineering, agriculture, and home economics, and their libraries are official federal government document repositories.
