Re: Bad pass interference calls

There were two or three instances where the officials also did things but made no announcement of what they were doing. I think the ineligible downfield on the TD was one of them, where the announcers were confused because the officials just took the ball back past midfield and started play again, a...

I cannot believe a guy who is being projected as a first round draft pick would even consider coming back. Very little, if anything, to gain, and a whole heck of a lot to lose should an injury happen.

I hope the offense slows down a bit. It was great last year when we had a stronger O-line and better play makers at WR. I am no expert, but I do think slowing it down a bit will allow Love a few more seconds to scan the defense and be in a better position to process what they are doing. I think this...

Re: Remember when Zach tackled the whole Air Force offense?

The Vigil brothers were legendary at USU. For much of that 2014 season it looked like they were trying to outdo each other. One game Zach would be amazing, the next game Nick would be a star. I loved it when Nick started taking snaps on the other side of the ball as a big, bruising, running back in ...

Re: PLEASE! Cut Down on the Late-Start Games!!

I don't mind the evening games, but in an ideal world they should be kept to the first two home games of the year. I was at the first night game ever at Maverik/Romney, against Baylor in 1993, and the atmosphere was amazing, very unlike what I had experienced in that stadium before. I was also there...

BYU big-timed USU for 50 years. Even during the 60s and 70s, when USU was an equal or better program. It was not until the late 1970s that BYU began to pull away from USU, but that was after nearly two decades of BYU trying to big-time USU. BYU, and Utah, worked hard to keep USU out of the WAC when...

I do not understand the hate towards Wells. He is an Aggie, he is part of our family. He was a member of the first ever USU team to win a bowl game, back in 1993. He was our starting QB in 1994. As a coach he is responsible for two of the three times an Aggie team won at least ten games, and has ano...

The "pressbox" is actually a huge recruiting tool. The athletes have to hang out there all the time or they don't eat. That's where the training table is. I don't think they necessarily care about his numbers this year. I think the NFL scouts look more at fundamentals, arm strength, and potential. Great numbers help, but don't always translate into NFL success. Look at all the star NCAA QBs who put up amazing numbers but were flops in the NFL. In fact...

Statistically our rushing has been virtually identical to last year. According to ESPN stats, the 2018 team averaged 5.5 yards per rush and averaged 203.2 yards per game. This year's team is averaging 5.3 yards per rush and 206.8 yards per game. Passing yards per game is up as well, with 294.2 yards...

Re: 3 things that stood out to me

What concerns me the most is our red zone offense. We have been terrible at scoring once in the red zone. Our red zone TD scoring rate is something like half the FBS average. Discounting the last possessions against CSU and SDSU, where the team took a knee in the victory formation while in the red z...

Yeah, not a fan of the play not to lose strategy. Wake is an up tempo team, like USU. Trying to run out the clock with two or three minutes does not do much unless you can realistically leave them with only 30 seconds or so. Agree on the logo, don't change it yet again. Since I went to USU in 1989, we have had at least five different primary helmet logos. Stick with one, and have one or two variations for special events.

To be fair Utah had some key injuries in football last year and nearly won the PAC and have some of that talent returning. Although I don’t think they are a team worthy of the playoffs if they beat Wazzou & U Dub they could very well make it. We got smacked around by BYU in hoops last year. Althoug...
