Nothing about NIL is good. Just do away with college sports. :(, shocker, greed is taking over. Yeah it really sucks that universities can't take complete advantage of kids anymore. Sure, the other 30,000 students at USU can transfer whenever they want to whatever school they want, but it really su...

Dartmouth hockey games are a lot of fun. Went to a ton of those when I was growing up. Actually enjoyed the football games too.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑March 5th, 2024, 12:46 pmDunno if that was every true at Dartmouth. Maybe in rowing or something pretentious like that.

Anyone else notice the plethora of offers that Iowa State has dolled out to Utah kids recently? I can’t seem to find a coaching tie to the state but they are certainly making a big push. I saw that, and I don't get it either. It's like Iowa State just decided to dive into Utah. Ummm maybe suddenly ...

What do you think most of our college athletes have grown up in? Are you talking about the ones on full ride athletic scholarships that have their tuition, books, housing, and meals paid for, tutors, and their own computer labs and study halls? Re: Blake Anderson Critics
Should 6-6 be the minimum expectation for us as fans? Regardless of bowl game outcome. For those of us who suffered through the ‘80s, ‘90s, and ‘00s, 6-6 as a floor seems entirely reasonable. Glad we are to a point where we question whether or not we want to accept it. There were decades where we w...

Colorado cast-offs- USU mentioned as potential landing spot
An article about the Colorado players who got the boot from Sanders after spring ball last year. The main focus of the article, an OL named Luke Eckardt, is supposedly drawing interest from USU after spending this season at Iowa Western CC. https://www.yahoo.com/news/former-colorado-players-were-tol...

Prior to our Sun Belt affiliation in ‘03 and ‘04, we had a connection with Arkansas State and Louisiana Lafayette (Formerly SW Louisiana) from their 1993-1995 affiliate status in the Big West. Louisiana Tech and Northern Illinois were also a part of that Big West affiliation.

Given the number of bowl games, and that every year it seems like one or two officially non-eligible teams sneak in due to not enough teams qualifying, I would say the odds are overwhelming that we go bowling with a win.

Why the dismissal of USU? Outside of 2016, USU has been at its worst a mid level MWC program. By all important metrics, W/L record, bowl appearances, BB records, USU is in the upper half of the MWC. In the most important metric of all, revenue generated for the conference, USU ranked fourth since jo...

Has Utah State ever had good corners? Off the top of my head: Nevin Lawson, Will Davis, Curtis Marsh, Tay Glover-Wright, Chris Randle, and Jalen Davis were all NFL guys. Randle had a great CFL career. Terrance Alston was pretty good as a senior but he didn’t go pro. Although he’s a traitor, Jamarcu...

If we could put together 4 quarters of football we would be 5-1at worst. Really is a bummer. If Blake can get this issue figured out in the next game or two I'll cease and desist from bashing him. I hope he can. If games were only from the second quarter on, we'd be 6-0 and one of the most dominant...

They should certainly be able to review noncalls for targeting or unnecessary roughness when a player gets injured but the refs missed the hit. I don't know about ejecting a guy just because they hit a guy that got injured, even if the hit resulted in a penalty. That seems like a slippery slope. Th...

USU staff on UConn sideline?
Just watching the replay of Larsen's blocked kick and in the immediate aftermath (literally 4 seconds after the whistle blew), and still with 40 seconds left and before the onside kick, CBS shows UConn coach Jim Mora, and immediately in front of him is a guy in a USU hat. Why is there a USU guy on t...

Saved our bacon for sure. What a play. It shouldn't have come down to that however. Blake took his foot off the gas two drives too early. Yeah, I agree. I am more than happy about the rule change. Way too much clock stoppage and down time in college football as it is. Would love to see a rule that limits replay reviews to 1 minute or less, and only reviewable for scores, turnovers, or targeting. Other than that, let the call on the field stand. If r...

One box score that could rival that would be the time San Jose State got shutout by Hawaii while going all day without punting. I watched a Boston Red Sox game about 30 years ago where the Sox lost 4-0. The Red Sox starting pitcher pitched the complete game without allowing a hit. But because the R...

I like the regional conference, peer institutions, many of them land-grant schools together in a conference. Of course, NIL would still be in play but it is closer to level when you look at the cities that the schools are in. I was talking with some kids on Monday how long they think Utah and BYU w...
