Re: Interesting Development

Only MWC school that I've heard has any interest in joining the AAC is Boise State. I doubt BYU has any interest. I HIGHLY doubt that USU has any interest. USU has a good, stable situation in the MWC. What happens if the AAC loses two schools to the BIG12? Now, I am sort of curious what CSU and Air ...

I'd like to see Maile stay as AHC if he's willing and maybe Collins could be special teams and position coach as well as Bojay and DJ staying on staff. I think the most important hire will be Defensive Coordinator as Anderson seems to be more involved on the offensive side of the ball. Maybe Yost w...

Re: Boise trying to leave mwc

The MWC seems to be playing more defense than offense lately. There was Thompson's failed courtship of Gonzaga. Thompson's lack of interest in adding Wichita State. Then in basketball, frequent rumors that MWC members are trying to join the AAC for football---I've seen Boise, Air Force, and Colorado...

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Peasly and some of the younger players step up and show some life again New Mexico. It's a shame we only have two games left having lost out on playing the Wyoming game. Is there any discussion for adding some additional games? SDSU jumped at the chance to play Colorad...

Re: Jay Hill and Smashmouth football

I'd like to see a creative, aggressive, offense. I'm not much for "system" offenses that constrain creativity. This can apply to the spread too - I thought Yost's offense lacked creativity at times. My favorite offense is one like Boise runs - they'll do anything and often do. I think a creative, a...

Re: Jay Hill and Smashmouth football

I recall that BYU tried to do this NFL style power run game a few years ago, and copy Wisconsin when they had Ty Detmer. Didn't work after Williams left for the NFL, and Detmer was eventually fired. It's very hard to find good enough O-Line talent and a few NFL caliber RBs to run this style of offen...

They also have more resources. I want to beat them as much as anybody, but unfortunately unless they turn the ball over ...

Getting tired of the MWC always playing the role of filler for BYU's November schedules and coming to the aid of BYU. He mentioned in the MWC announcement Q&A. Because of the AFA and Army game one other team would have 7 conference games. I wish we'd get this game rather than the donkeys. Re: I don't think we should play YBU this year

It depends on if some of the MWC schools have games cancelled, or can't play this season.

Hawaii is still a question mark. As is New Mexico.

If a few games get canceled, could only be 5-6 games actually played.

It is odd how Utah is allowing high school football, but the local colleges decided it was too dangerous to play college football.

Anyone playing BYU. YBU has essentially joined CUSA if you look at their schedule. Agreed, it's better than nothing, not making that argument. Looking at reality here as I see it. What school in the MWC could justify a jump to another conference given the burden of traveling the Olympic and TItle IX non revenue teams. Just think about Boise traveling non revenue teams to the ACC locations, or for that matter, even AIR FORCE. There is a po...

NBA died when they stopped allowing defense. 1990s NBA was the best (even if low scoring).

Now the NBA is just launching endless 3 pointers, and 1 on 1 isolation ball. Fewer offensive sets. Centers are no longer dominant players.

It's boring to watch.

It scares me a little bit. We've basically only ever seen Gary hire from the good ol' boys network for the most part. That leaves some scary names for me. Our AD has had a very difficult time trying to find enough schools who will even play USU. In state scheduling is a huge priority. If I had to guess, I think it will look like this. BYU: home-home-neutral (apparently our AD and Coach love playing in SLC every 3rd year) Weber State: home-home UVU: ho...

As fun as playing P5s can be this game is pointless in the grand scene of things.
