Re: AAC Western Expansion Smoke

Probably but with the University Presidents making the call of who gets in I like our academic status and being closer to Byu giving us the edge. Of course I still believe in Santa and the Tooth Fairy :sarcasm: so there is that. This post caught my interest because a Twiiter poster made note of it ...

John Hartwell was on the radio with Scott Garrard today. He sad the schools mostly likely to go from the AAC to the Big 12 are Central Florida South Florida Cincinnati Houston When asked what that meant for the Mountain West, he said the conference is not waiting around to find out. There has been a...

I honestly don’t think Otto Tia has ever served a mission. He may have intended to, but I don’t think he actually did. I knew his coach at Northridge and he said for Otto the sky is the limit. He said he has only played a few years and is now just starting to realize his real talent. An RS year (re-...

No decisions were made in spring about which quarterback was first or second (except conclusions drawn by the media)-- Anderson made the decision to leave that to fall. My view is that in many cases Legas outplayed Peasley. Peasley is a better runner than thrower, while Legas seemed to be a lot bett...

Utah’s AD has told many privately that there is no reason for them to play us, but if they did, it will only be in Salt Lake. So I would pretty much say we won’t be playing Utah.

Re: Not good start for Love

First of all, the click baiters need to say bad stuff about Love to keep the story alive. In all likelihood, Rodgers stays out through the first couple of weeks of training camp, and then comes in and plays. This is what all of his “buddies” are saying. The good news is, even if he does that, Love h...

Re: Greatest Player of the Past 20 years?

Ive seen everybody play since 1965 and think Shaler Halimon was better than all of them. Had he played here all three years (Juco transfer), there no doubt in my mind he would lead in every offensive category. He was THAT good. Different than Estes. Estes was a plodder. Halimon was a gazelle. But Su...

Re: Conference re-alignment rumors now in full swing

Bosie whining and threatening to leave never really bothers me, and San Diego State is too far west for the AAC to be a real possibility IMO. Likelier (although still slim) would be for SDSU and UNLV to get an invite to the Pac-12 based on footprint and UNLV's new facilities. This is the reason why...

Re: Conference re-alignment rumors now in full swing

Conference realignments are not basketball driven. They are football driven and, as much as Boise State keeps hoping if they keep talking about it, that it will happen, its not going to go the way they think. What is more likely is the continued shrinking of the P5 to a very small group of elite sch...

Re: Do you think the NCAA new rules about limiting contact in practice will lead to more injuries in games?

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if football looks a lot different 20 years from now. You are already seeing that fewer kids are playing football. I generally agree. We may see fewer kids playing football here in Utah or say semi-rural California, places like that. But theres too much money in...

Re: Aaron Rodgers wants out of Green Bay

I think in the end the Packers and Rodgers will reach a contractual "impasse" that will give Rodgers a little more of what he wants. Additionally, golfing buddy and former Packers fullback John Kuhn has piped up and said he has spoken with Rodgers and this is what is happening: "If I used my gut and...

Re: Aaron Rodgers wants out of Green Bay

I think there is a lot of people reading into things that have not been said out loud, but have only been "surmised." In the only actual conversation between a media person (Mike Tirico) and Rodgers, Tirico said: "He didn't want to talk on camera. I can tell ya, I characterize Aaron as disappointed ...

What really sealed the deal for Peterson is that Craig Smith offered him a job as his Associate Head Coach at Utah and the process hadn't even begun in Logan yet. Since the job wasn't given to him out of hand, he determined he wasn't going to get it and took the sure thing. Smart man. I don't think ...

If you listened to Anderson's interview after the scrimmage, he said there will be other additions to the roster. You can count on more transfers this summer. And they will be transfers eligible to come in and play immediately.
