Re: We miss Yost

If I have any criticism of the Aggie season it is this: We should have played Stony Brook at home first, then gone on the road to Wake Forest. If had a game under our belt, I predict we beat Wake Forest by 10 points. But, alas, the schedule is the schedule. All you can do is play the one you have. I...

Re: New Unis

I always kind of thought the all-pewter uniforms with the white helmet looked kind of classy. I always liked those big wide stripes down the leg better than "Aggies." That looks so Boise State. :) https://i.postimg.cc/RWb4JsVR/Aggies-in-Pewter.jpg BTW, these pictures were from the same game against ...

Re: 2020 USU Football Offers and Commits

I think we're going to see this concept of "push forwards" become more a thing. Some will go to prep schools where they will get a year of college prepratory work without starting their clocks. But you have to believe that with 45 kids (Gary's words) in the last class, and 20 of those pushed forward...

Re: Attendance?

It was the kind of attendance that would have been announced at 26,000 twelve years ago, before it was discovered that the stadium isn’t even that large. The stadium has been whatever they said it was, based on the size of the seat allocated. Originally, in 1969, it was 20,000 seats, and then expan...

Re: MWC SP+ rankings - Week 1

The SP+ rankings are actually a pretty fair assessment of team strengths, not won-loss percentages. That's my problem with the current polls-- you lose you drop like a rock. But what has changed about the team? Isn't it still the same team that was ranked highly the week before. The SP+ takes streng...

I have no problem with Zach Moss being #1. He is a helluva player. It could have easily have been Jordan Love. But do you know what this whole 60 in 60 thing proves? If you have a large enough fan base and can mobilize them to vote, you can get all of your favorite team's players voted in the top 10...

Dave Kragthorpe once told me that many NFL players have gifts to their universities written into their contracts automatically when they renegotiate or hit free agency. So my question is, what is USU doing to help Bobby protect some of his income with a charitable gift to USU?

Re: Handicapping the MW 2019/20

I think the biggest hole in Miller's game is that he is exclusively an outside shooter. If he's on, he's dangerous, but if he's not he's useless to us because he doesn't drive to the basket, he doesn't rebound, and he's only a fair defender. If Sean Bairstow is as good as the coaches believe he is, ...

Talk about living in the past. Listening to Jason Buck say stuff like that reminds me of Aggie fans in the 1980's referring to Utah State like it was still the 1960's and Merlin Olsen was still playing on the Aggie line. Despite Merlin Olsen being a cousin, Bart Starr was the name that really turned me on to pro football back in 1964. I liked his name first, then I liked the team, the Green Bay Packers. It didn't hurt that they were going through an unprecedented run in the NFL. Been a Packers fan ever since!

I believe it was the last game played in the Old stadium we beat YBU in front of 15,000 people. I believe that was 1967.
Actually, USU beat Montana in the last game played in old Romney, November 11, 1967, before a crowd of about 16,500.
