Yeah, I think it's extremely likely that the Aggies will be hosting a CBI or CIT game. Ironic that the postseason losing streak may well come to an end during the program's worst year in more than a decade.

Re: Is there any way USU gets bid to other 2?

A.D. told me that if we end the season with a winning record or even end up .500, we will have a very good shot at hosting a game in one of those lesser tournaments. He said our record (before the win at SJS) was .500 because they didn't count the Montana Tech game (I'm guessing which game doesn't ...

Definitely not a legend. A career backup who struggled to score, but wish him well in life. Are you serious? He was a career back up because he put the team first. I'd say 18-20 wins. 3-4 of these 5 would have been wins: @Corpus Christi, @Idaho, @Seattle, @Pacific, @Fresno St 1-2 of these 7 would have been wins: vs Nevada, vs Denver, vs UCSB, vs NMSU, @Nevada, @Miss St, @Wichita St Brady's primary impact would have been on the boards. He's proven over his care...

I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's impossible to overstate how much this team misses Brady. Though they SHOULD be playing better without him, his presence would have been tremendously beneficial. I could be wrong about this, but I think he was top 20/25 nationally in rebounding rate las...

Extremely sad news. Brady was easily one of the most fun Aggies to watch in the decade I've followed the team. He also seemed like a great guy and he was certainly terrific competitor. Re: The Wac's Bracket Busters games

Every team in the WAC has a winnable game. With the exception of Hawaii, Nevada and NMSU, I think every WAC team will be favored. The three worst teams in the WAC (FSU, La Tech & SJSU) all get easy opponents, though it wouldn't surprise me to see one of SJSU or Fresno drop one on the road. I believe...

Yep. Huge game tonight. Reed's play will be crucial. He must be able to help out on the boards & play defense without getting in foul trouble. The Ags can't afford another offensive no-show from him, either. I'm looking forward to the matchup between Zane Johnson & Preston. Two of the best scorers &...

isn't the CBI the tournament where you have to buy your way in? IIRC, it costs something like $50,000 for a home game. I thought that was the CIT? Cit is midmajors only. I'm not sure if this is what you're getting at, but, for the purposes of the CIT, the WAC counts as a mid-major. The WAC has had ...

Re: No NCAA Tournament Teams from Utah?

I would be pretty surprised if Weber State doesn't win the Big Sky tournament this year. Montana is decent, but Weber is the best team in that league by a decent margin. They'll have the tourney on their homecourt and I can't imagine they'll blow the chance again. You're right that UVU's league does...

I'm skeptical because of some of his idiosyncrasies (i.e. starting Jason Collins), but if the Hawks continue to play this well without Al Horford, Corbin may have some stiff competition from Larry Drew.

I think it's a great trade for the M's. They desperately needed offense, and Montero will provide plenty. I know there are doubts about his defense, but I expect him to come around. Re: The name of the game I thought was to shoot?

Regarding USU's pace: I'll take efficiency over volume any day of the week. Especially in the NCAA tournament, a low volume, high-efficiency approach is the best way for smaller schools to win. Look at Butler! Not exactly the run 'n' gun. By slowing the game down, you limit the possessions of the li...

Re: No current WAC teams in mid-major top 25....

I don't think it has to do with the WAC not considering itself a mid-major but rather the US Basketball Writers Association, which for some reason still considers the WAC a high major (along with the MWC, C-USA & A-10). If you look back, you'll see that at least Jaycee (possibly also Gary and Tai) w...

It remains to be seen if they continue using Winning Team/Losing team after tonight. I doubt it. I assume that was just done to taunt the Ags. Well said, bpd. Don't really see much in that post that I disagree with. There is no doubt in my mind that USU wins if Brady is healthy. Nevada won the game on the offensive glass, IMO, and that doesn't happen if Brady was there. He was amongst the national leaders in rebound % last year.
