Re: Good for the WAC!!

It seems likely that, with Montana declining their invite, Seattle U will join the WAC as a basketball-only member as well.

Re: Bendall out for good?

http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/blogsususports/50651596-55/season-bendall-jardine-wesley.html.csp Tony's article raises a couple questions for me. First, will Nate be able to play at all? It would suck to have him limited, but even ten minutes of Nate would be huge, I think. Second, why can't he redshi...

Re: Why do you love Aggie Basketball?

There's a lot more to it, but the short answer is Stew Morrill. The way he runs a program is just about unparalleled. He recruits good kids, makes them better as men and teaches them to play the game of basketball right. The Aggies are always a joy to watch, they play a team game and play with inten...

Re: Fav Aggie who never finished

I agree with Gus. I will always be a fan of Jaxon Myaer. He gave me a heart attack every time he touched the ball, but no one had more heart.

While I wouldn't call him a favorite, I agree with Treesap that Geiger should be big for Idaho.

Re: WAC to expand in Basketball by 4 teams

Well said, AgTime. The WAC is in a tough spot and as bad as the UTSA/TXST/Seattle/Denver solution sounds, at least the WAC survives. Although I'm holding out hope for both Montana joining and of course an MWC invite for USU.

Re: Who is our greatest mid-major rival

It should be noted that post was written in 2004. Obviously, there isn't any kind of rivalry between USU and UCI right now. The mere mention of the name Jerry Green still makes my blood boil, but in the grand scheme of things the USU/UCI rivalry is now a footnote. So if we're exempting BYU and Utah ...

Re: Breaking down Tai Wesley vs. Weber St. - Stats

Morris and Bullinger are their starting bigs, I think. Bullinger is a returning starter and Morris is a first year starter as a senior. I don't think either one is as good as Panos, but I'm really not too familiar with Weber.

Re: No love from CBS

I really don't see how he can figure the OVC champ as a 10 seed and the WAC champ as a 13 seed. Murray's bound to drop at least as many games as last year, when they were at 12 seed.

Steals = 1
Assists = 6
PFs = 3 (please stay out of foul trouble this year, Tai)
TOs = 2

Re: Predict USU's OOC record

I'm gonna refrain from predicting the BB game as well, so I'll say 13-1, with the loss of course coming either at Georgetown or BYU. I feel like it might be overly optimistic to pick USU to win the 12 other games besides those two, but I just don't see where the Ags will lose. The toughest OOC game ...

Re: I'm worried about our bigs

Grim does worry me a bit, especially defensively. I'm also concerned about what's seemed like a tendency to not go strong to the rim. He should be serviceable against the lesser teams on the schedule, but it's imperative that Tai and Brady stay out of foul trouble against the tougher teams.

Re: BCS - Smart to take Boise State or TCU/Utah

The thing is, there is really no way to establish who is "really" the best team in any given year. Whether a team won a postseason tournament or was named a champ, there are always going to be disputes. Were the Giants really the best baseball team this year? Who was the best team when LSU and USC s...

Still MarioWest (if anyone's curious, he was a bench warmer for my Atlanta Hawks the last two years. A guy who walked on to Georgia Tech, never started there, and still made the NBA despite almost zero basketball talent. Though he was cut this offseason). And count me as another fan of the site. Re: How Many Games Will We Win?

NMSU will be very good if they can get any kind of consistent guard play from their newcomers, but I don't think that the loss of Bendall really impacts USU's chances too much against the southern Aggies. I'd expect Jardine to perform better against NMSU because he can match them in terms of athleti...

Re: TCU to the Big East

I may be missing something, but how can this really hurt USU? The only way I can see is Hawaii (or SJSU) getting invited by the MWC to replace TCU. But there's a good chance Hawaii goes indy in football anyway and SJSU doesn't seem like much of a candidate, so I really think TCU going Big East could...

Re: Point Guard Minutes

So is there any chance that Pane and Walker will be on the court at the same time? I know there's been fan speculation of Walker playing some wing, but I don't believe there's been any evidence from official sources. My guess is probably 30/10 Pane/Walker at the start of the year with Walker gradual...
