Agreed. Ula is a fantastic player, and has been incredibly underutilized for BYU this season. I very VERY much doubt it’s even a possibility, but I’d accept him in a heartbeat.

Re: How regretful is Tukuafu right now?

I’m fine with losing Rayshad. Nathan is better. Don’t know what Joe would have been for us. I never like to lose good talent. Is there a limit on talented slot receivers? I wish we had both of them. Agreed. Having both would certainly not be a problem. I really like Nathan, and he's set up for a gr...

Re: So, You Are John Hartwell Next Week...

What does Hartwell have to do to end the “AD is in hiding” fallacy? Fire coaches? Why do some think he hasn’t done anything? Well, he did fire Gregg Gensel midseason in the last month, so changes are being made. That track and cross country program has been in disarray and that should satisfy the n...

Re: So, You Are John Hartwell Next Week...

Firing the coach Now is completely irrational. The season could still be a success. The team could still finish 8-4, although unlikely, it’s possible. That is certainly good enough for Wells to keep his job. What good does firing Wells now do? You don’t help recruiting, in fact you set it back.l be...

Re: So, You Are John Hartwell Next Week...

What does Hartwell have to do to end the “AD is in hiding” fallacy? Fire coaches? Why do some think he hasn’t done anything? Well for one, it would help if all of our teams had unprecedented success all of a sudden, and all of the current challenges they face were gone. Also, if we could increase o...

I've said it many, many times. I really don't believe Love is much of a step up from Myers, I've never been impressed by him and I certainly don't think he's the future (at least, if the future is any better than it is now). That said, I would much rather see him take over than stick with Myers, if ...

I keep hiding under my desk pretending that USU has an athletic director. John cares more than you know. He’s a man you don’t cross. He knows how to make a decision and when to make it. If Matt Wells has any interest or chance at keeping his job, Kent Myers is done, IMHO. Hobbs stepped away from QB...

Re: Kent Myers vs rest of schedule

While I won't defend the offensive line, which certainly does need improvement, more than a few of the sacks are a result of Kent having very little quarterback vision and not being willing to throw beyond 10 yards downfield. I've actually been quite impressed with our receivers and their ability to...

To me, GA's integrity is unimpeachable. How he left USU must be understood in context---the context of the college football coaching carousel: he got virtually a "once in a lifetime" offer from Wiscy---an offer he apparently was not expecting. What was he supposed to do, turn it town because in the...

Special teams is a very narrow expertise/skill set. O and D are much more complex. Not sure a special teams guy is who we need/want as a head coach. If a change is made, we need to find the best, most experienced guy we can possibly find and I don’t think anyone on our current staff fits that bill....

I might be in the minority on this one, but I really don't feel like those texts were very incriminating. Sure, Andersen should probably clean up his language a little bit and use less exclamation points. But I just didn't see anything which if I were an AD of a school looking for a head coach would...

So the anonymous players referenced in this thread blamed their piss poor play on the fact that they “don’t like” Wells? That’s a player problem, not a coaching problem.

BYU is bad. Like, they're really bad. Even with Mangum back, they still just can't do a thing offensively. Boise defense looks solid, and I think the offense unfortunately will start to find their rhythm by the time they make their way to Logan. Rypien fell into a bit of a funk early this season, b...

Yeah, the name pronunciation is still prrrrretty bad. I get it if you get some of the other team's names wrong. But there's really no excuse for not knowing how to pronounce our own team's names. We honestly don't even have all that many that are tough this year.

Nobody tell Frank, but NMSU is actually really good this season. Wins over New Mexico and UTEP, with close losses to Troy (who just beat LSU), Arizona State, and Arkansas. They very well may win the Sun Belt this season.

Don't get the hate about the Utes not playing us. They have nothing to gain and everything to loose. It is a matter of being rationale versus emotional. I tend to agree. Yeah, if you think those ESPN guys put more than 5 seconds of thought and research into the lower-tier G5 bowl projections (especially this early in the season) I've got news for you. But it is nice to see that the projections are starting to show us getting bowl eligible.

I'm 100% behind Hartwell holding his ground for a 1-and-1. I would love to have Utah back on the schedule, I think in-state games are a lot of fun. But I'd much rather go for a home-and-home with a team like Washington State than a 2-for-1 or 3-for-1 with Utah.
