Tarvish Felton is also someone we should consider.
No Tarvish, no problem, Spencer Nelson is more than capable. Felton will probably be poached by KY anyway.

But honestly, when/if (optimist) we get a new coach, I hope there is still a place for Spencer here. I'm biased tho, I guess.

Re: Should Coach Duryea be fired?

I have a hard time with this question. We've had some good wins this year, but we've also had bad losses. We've also had some injuries this year. I feel like, for the most part, I have been okay with giving Duryea one more year with the expectation of an NCAA bid. I think Duryea is a good guy and I ...

For a second I thought maybe Michigan State was insolvent.
So you confirmed your suspicion by looking at the picture and realizing nothing had dissolved?

Re: Conference expansion - something to CONSIDER

I think NMSU is the most likely candidate right now. But I would hold off and see what happens in the next few years. What really intrigues me would be the addition of Gonzaga and St. Mary's for oly sports only. Yes, I worry about their continued success (St. Mary's particularly), but honestly, bot ...

Re: Do we chase this guy?

Chase him hard, Timothy. A guy with that size has NBA potential regardless of his current skills. Let our boy Spencer Nelson teach him up a few post moves (I'm actually pretty impressed with Dargenton's progress as far as post play) and cause problems down low on defense.

Yeah, there were quite a few pretty ridiculous fouls. That one in particular was ridiculous. The other when Merrill was standing in front of the hoop with his hands up, the guy driving hits him and falls backwards, was another ridiculous foul.

Re: Maverik Stadium Fan experience survey

I was very impressed with the band this year. Yeah they could be bigger, but they were louder this year and sounded good. It still baffles me why there are clarinets out there. I don't even think saxophones deserve to be out there. I played saxophone through high school and at USU for a year, but in...

Welcome to the board Javery! Always good to have somebody with personal connections contribute to the board. Sorry for the negativity, but that’s typical with any fan base when a team or player isn’t performing at its best. As for isby, I think we’ve all seen his potential. I think everybody wants h...

It is the biggest load of B.S when folks say if you have a lot of Utah kids we will support you, if you do not win they stay home.regardless of where the kids losing games went to high school. Winning certainly comes first, but we already went through the years before GA where we mainly recruited p...

Re: Weber st.'s corner invited to the NFL Combine. Jalen Davis isn't.

But Jalen showed on the field that he doesn't get burned and people don't get past him, very similar to Nevin. It will be interesting to see what his 40 time is. watch the CSU and WYO games and say he does not get burned.... Naw, I'm just going to stick with my preconceived notions. It makes me fee...

Re: Weber st.'s corner invited to the NFL Combine. Jalen Davis isn't.

Nevin, while only 5'9 had very good strength and musculature (190lbs to 195ish?). He ran a 4.48 at the combine and then blazed around a 4.3 at our pro day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jisZhn_U7Nw Jalen is listed 5'10 but is probably closer to 5'8 or maybe 5'9 and hasn't demonstrated blazing spe...

Re: Weber st.'s corner invited to the NFL Combine. Jalen Davis isn't.

This is insane to me. Jalen was equal or better than Nevin Lawson during college. He definitely didn't get the PI's Lawson got. And he absolutely shut down every receiver he was covering all year long. I'm sure he'll have a great career in the NFL regardless.

Re: Tray Boyd: Offer

I'd take him. These are the types of players we need for our current system. We need 2-3 good big men who can rebound and defend the interior. Hoping Grootfaam can bring that and I believe Stall brings that if he's healthy. Other than that, we need athletic guys who can shoot, drive, and pass. I thi...

Re: DeAngelo Isby: wasted scholarship, or am I missing something?

I'm good with Taylor having a scholarship, as it appears that he is earning it and is our second best post player after Brown. On a good Aggie team, he might still be a back-up, scholarship player. * * * You shouldn't be good with Taylor having a scholarship. Prior to his mission, Taylor was recrui...

Re: DeAngelo Isby: wasted scholarship, or am I missing something?

Per the advanced stats posted in another thread, Taylor is 2nd on the team in box plus/minus and 3rd on the team in true shooting %. Obviously advanced stats don't tell the whole story, but both stats and the eye test show Quinn has been good for us and has more than held his own out there. It's no...

I can remember a lot of people here were upset about Taylor getting a scholarship. I certainly feel he earned it at the time and even more so now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk My recollection is that Taylor had them by the short ones. He was originally a walk-on in '12-'13 when he red-shirted a...
